Weight gain with Mirena (IUD) ?

Hello! I am 5 months post partum, and I was able to lose my baby weight within two and a half months with just eating healthy and swelling going down. At three months I got an IUD put in, and I started eating healthy and exercising three times a week, since then, I have not lost any weight, I've actually gaines 15 pounds in the last two and a half months!!! I'm almost sure it's the IUD, am I the only one who's had this happen to them?

I've had an IUD twice...once before pregnancy and I have it now...I did not gain weight either time. From what I recall, weight gain is not a traditional side effect of Mirena. I'm pretty overweight and my doctor didn't want to give me certain birth controls for that exact reason. Don't know if this helps you or not but I thought I'd share my experience with you.

Thank you meleon524, I actually got the IUD taken out and I've already lost ten pounds since lol when I told my doctor she looked at me like I was crazy.. Never again lol thanks
