Hello.
I'm a little bit over 16 weeks, and for the last week or so I've felt a little popping/tapping feeling between my belly button and public bone. I assumed it was just wind or something, as I thought it was a few weeks too early to feel the baby, since this is my first pregnancy.
Anyway, I've been feeling more and more of this popping/tapping, and it's been getting ever so slightly more noticeable (usually in the evening when laying on my back, or if I have my legs curled up to my stomach). Last night I felt it again so laid my hand on my stomach, and reslised I could feel some of the pops/taps from the outside. As I laid there longer I could feel what felt like a fish squirming/flipping in a bag or maybe if you put your hand on your cheek and rolled your tongue across it (that's the only way I can describe it!).
Obviously I have absolutely no experience with this, so I'd like to know if you can feel movement (not just 'flutters') this early with your first pregnancy, or if anyone else had this feeling and it really was the baby? I can't think what else it could be, but it just seems weird to me that I would feel movement this early, let alone feeling them from the outside.
Thank you

Ps. I have used the search function, but didn't find anything specifically regarding the feeling/sensation of movement, other than flutters/pops, and these were mainly from women during second/third/fourth pregnancies when you usually feel movement earlier.
Re: Baby movement at 16 weeks
@CarrieOct15 I did see that thread, thank you. But as I said, most of the ladies on there mentioned it happening a lot later than 16 weeks (except 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc pregnancies) and most say it feels like flutters/tingling/popping etc around 20 weeks or so. As I said, I feel popping/tapping, but was more so enquiring about the feeling of other movement, like the squirming sensation I felt, and wondered whether anyone else had felt anything similar early on during their first pregnancy.
I haven't felt the squirming feeling since then (and I don't think I would have really felt it properly if I didn't have my hand resting there) but have been feeling more and more popping/tapping.
I feel lucky to feel movement so early
