How to post a gif using your phone

Because I love gifs, you all should learn.

Here is the code that needs to go into the text box:
**Eta code fail - thought that would happen, please refer to attached photo**

The link has to end in .gif and the gif itself is the only thing that can be on the page or it won't work.
I find gifs by searching in google images on my safari browser, then click view image to isolate them.
Photobucket gifs have never worked for me.
Any other questions, this thread is great to post in. Also feel free to practice here.

Eta this code may or may not work using a PC, but this is the way I post them in the app on my cell.

I coppied and pasted it too, still wont work. Myabe its something with my computer. I even tried putting it through the image box. On my phone it works, but just the picture, the video ones don't.

Take the semi colon off the end.

The semi-colon happened when I took the quotes off, it showed the > in my post box, but when I hit post the semi-colon showed up.

I'm trying from my phone now:

eta: That's crazy... Both ways work on my phone. But won't work on my Mac.

There's probably a different way to do it on a PC. I've only ever used the app on my phone or the site on my ipad, which works the same way. I'll edit the title & OP so people know these instructions are only good for the phone app.

I learned today that if it says "Image" you've copied a non-direct link. Sometimes on photo sharing sites it will have direct links if you click further into the site
