Elizabeth vs Elisabeth

I am having trouble deciding on the spelling for a middle name. The first name is a one syllable, unisex name, so I wanted to go with something very feminine and classic to balance it out. Elisabeth is a family name (it's the German and Dutch version) but am wondering if I should go with the "Z" spelling to make it more common?

it is my middle name and spelled with a Z
it is my mom's first name and also my grandma's first name. Grandma used to spell her as with an an S, but Americanized it when they came from Austria.
I think either way is fine.

Normally I'd say Elizabeth, but if Elisabeth is the family name spelling I think that's better.

Since they are both legit I think it depends on the first name and which looks better.  WIth a "unisex" name I tend to think the most common is the way to go so with a Z.

love Elisabeth so much more than with a "z." It's different without being ridiculous. Beautiful name.

I think you should stick with the family spelling.

I generally prefer Elizabeth but if Elisabeth is your family name, use it.

I prefer the traditional Americanized spelling in most cases, just to save her from spelling her name for everyone. BUT that's much less important for MN. I'd go with the family spelling for MN.
