What am I hearing on the doppler?

About a week or so ago, I started hearing loud bangs and what sounds like baby movement when I'm listening to the doppler. I find a good strong pulse for about two seconds and then a BANG and the heartbeat becomes very quiet or goes away. Is this really baby moving? I am 15+5. I can't wait to actually start feeling baby, not just hearing him/her with the doppler (:

Re: What am I hearing on the doppler?

  • I'm 15+2, and I've noticed a lot of having to follow baby around to keep listening the last couple times, and last night I heard a loud noise right before baby moved too. So excited to be able to feel this movement I'm hearing!

  • I think it is the baby moving! I had a doppler at my midwife appt last week and we heard the heartbeat followed by some sudden sharp static and then the heartbeat again. My MW said "baby's really moving around in there!"
  • Yes!!! Yesterday all I heard was what sounded like a football game going on in there, but couldn't find a HB. All that "whooshing" and banging is your little bean moving! Isn't it exciting?!

I don't he/she likes the doppler very much haha. They sound like they kick at the doppler when I'm looking for the heartbeat. I wear headphones so I don't wake up my SO and the kicking hurts my ears lol

Haha! I was listening tonight and I also wear ear buds. I made my husband come listen to the super loud thuds and he smiled so big. I can't feel it most times, but if I'm super still and on my side at night I can sometimes feel it moving around. I'm a STM so I know the different feelings. I'm just ready for the strong ones already.
  • Bought a doppler yesterday wow so super to hear the heart beat and and my dh where so excited this pregnancy is bringing us so much joy, but these fears of miscarriage and stillborn issues sometimes makes me a little milly.
  • DH just ordered me one. I'm really excited to get it.
