I hope I can post a question here about PGD testing. I was recently posting on PAIF board, but sadly lost 2 babies in the last few weeks. (one at 10w2d yesterday and the other at 8 weeks). Basically out of 6 5 day blasts, I had 3 pregnancies, of which 5 implanted and began to grow and 5 miscarried. We are going to begin a new IVF cycle as soon as we can and are considering PGD testing. Has anyone done this and would you be willing to share your experience? If all the embryos are abnormal are they all just not used? What about normal ones? Will those result in a successful pregnancy" Any advice appreciated.
Re: Intro-losses mentioned, pregnancies mentioned-can I post a PGD question here?
We did our first ER last November and had 6 5day blasts and we did do CCS or PGS. This tests the embies to see if they are chromosomally correct, PGD tests for a genetic disease so be sure to choose the right one.
It was devastating to get the results but after a lot of grieving we realize that it was good we did test or else we would have gone through losses ourselves. Our clinic does not use any embryos that test abnormal in CCS.
The 2 reasons we chose to do CCS was that my husband is a Kidney patient and DNA in sperm can get affected by CKD & my mother had 6 miscarriages (all in the 2nd trimester) and I am her only live birth. Our RE looked through our history and still didn't think it was totally necessary but once she saw the results she said its good that we did do the CCS or it would have been heartache after heartache.
I wish you all the best.

Not sure where we go from here...
We're parents to two very adorable, bratty, affectionate & goofy Bernese Mountain Dog pups who would very much like a 2 legged baby brother or sister of their own!
I'm so sorry to hear about your losses. I have lost 2 pregnancies (1 single and 1 twin pg). We are considering PGS testing due to our recurrent loss as well, so I'll be following and reading any future replies. I just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you, and you're not alone. ((HUGS))

So because of my age I wanted to bank in hopes of more then one child and now I have to pray I can get the one. My last cycle gave me 3 blasts and they all came back abnormal there's a lot more hurt and tears that go with the testing process. Yes it's better to know so u don't have another MC but to not even get one normie is devastating too. Just did another round and was very lucky to be able to get 6 sent for testing. So at the moment I have hope that I have normies in this batch!!
Getting the normal is another hurdle checked off as the next step is the transfer. I hear it's 50% the egg and 50% on ur body. So besides testing my embryos it's also making sure we didn't miss anything and there's no blood clotting issue or anything on my end. So far there isn't which makes the MC worse. U want to kno what is wrong so u can fix it. And if it's PGD (genetic testing) you need if it wasn't recommended from the beginning after ur original blood work then it's probably PGS testing you would do.
best of luck and hope we'll be back over to the paif board soon!!! I kno it's never soon enough, it has been some time for you so I hope so!!
