We couldn't wait to get out last time. I have a feeling I will feel different this time
With my first I left before 24 hours. Now I am going to pretend it is a hotel, order jimmy johns in and hang out with my new baby before I have to share with everyone else .
There is a Jimmy Johns 2 blocks from the hospital - I'm definitely ordering some PP now too.
Can you generally eat outside food when in hospital? If so, why would anyone choose to eat the hospital food? I can't imagine that my mom won't buy us outside food lol.
We were able to eat whatever. It probably depends on your hospital/Dr. But we ordered Jimmy Johns after our daughter was born because it was late and the cafeteria was already closed. But I'm weird and totally love hospital food. I ate that every meal. Yum!
We had burgers from a local place because it's what I wanted and was starving because I hadn't eaten for over 12 hours. The hospital food wasn't too bad, though. DD was born at about 8:30 AM, but if she had been born in the middle of the night, my only food option would have been a cold hospital sandwich and juice, which sounds terrible.
The nurses had little "meals" ready for anyone who needed to eat after the cafeteria was closed. They had sandwiches, cookies, granola bars and soda/juice. Which was kind of nice for late snacks.
Regarding yummy hospital food, my first "meal" after having my daughter was a pack of peanut butter crackers. I could have kissed the nurse that gave them to me, they tasted SO GOOD lol.

Hahaha The first thing I had to eat at 11pm after my youngest was born was cheese cubes, apple juice and grapes… it was DELICIOUS!
I like our hospitals food. I always love picking out my breakfast/lunch/dinner on their menu, kinda weird I know… There is always a FireHouse subs across the street (I still haven't gotten my sandwich I was promised last time) and a Dunkin' Donuts a few blocks down the road. I did get my coffee I was promised though. The hospital coffee sucked.
I have to comment on the staying in the hospital…. I throughly plan to enjoy the quiet and cuddle time as much as I can in the hospital. I am starting to think about trying to keep the visitors at bay and maybe not posting anything on social media until we leave so we can have a few days to ourselves.
As far as the privacy thing, I actually never thought about some of the points y'all have made before. I post pictures of my family on my website and give a lot of information away about my family and personal hurdles (my blog) though I never give personal information out over the internet, not intentional anyways. We have a lot of family and friends that are in other states (we have a military family) so I enjoy keeping in touch that way and I honestly like meeting other people/moms on social media… Though I know bad things can happen and pictures can get stolen but it seems like it can happen with just about anything now a days. I get everyone point, it all makes sense just comes down to personal preference.
On the internet privacy thing...recently we had a case here where law enforcement contacted a mom to inform her that they had just busted a child porn ring. She had "friended" I guy she knew in high school. He had been selling pics of her kids in the bath and in bathing suits to other pervs. She would have never known if he hadn't gotten busted. Goes to show that you may have known someone in the past but really have no idea how they turned out. The pics didn't show private parts so the mom thought nothing of posting them to FB.

This is why it freaks me out. I'm about to get rid of Facebook all together... That and so people will stop trying to sell me shakeology or jamberry...
