@beckyk9109 she just seems to be very gassy. For the most part she's ok. But the morning hours seem to be worse where she strains and cries when she poops or has gas. Idk if it's normal for babies to scream like she does if she poops. I'm going to give it a few days and see. We just started implementing it last weekend and this week were up to all her day feedings formula so maybe she's just still getting used to it. I know their bodies take a bit to acclimate to it. Last night was just bad she was screaming for almost 2 hours. We couldn't get her to calm down. Then she pooped, we changed her and she was good. Her poop is like mush consistency. Idk how it's suppose to be for a 1 month old. It isn't hard pellets and she is going 1-2 times a day
Twice today, LO went from crying to asleep in 0 to 60, when I laid him down next to me as if we were going to side-lie feed. He didn't even need to eat, just the comfort of being next to mama. This, after we returned to a full night of bedsharing.
This is sooo much better than trying to get him into his bassinet. Also feeding him more often, rather than trying to space it out to avoid major spit up. He seems happier, and I certainly am.
Time and again, I'm reminded to just follow baby's cues and give him what he's asking for, immediately.
It is 97 degrees out, so we are "stuck" inside for a full skin-skin day (we don't have AC). But today is still a great day!!
Trying to finish thank you cards for our baby shower. I have no motivation. It was Memorial Day weekend and still haven't done them lol We had about 60 people there and then others sent gifts. We're super grateful but it's a lot of writing especially when LO won't nap well without me holding her
Guess who got a Moby for FREE! Such a blessing (I LOVE teacher moms/friends). I used it this morning while she was awake to do some kitchen stuff and explain how I made coffee can't wait to do some school planning while wearing her!
At what age do I get to stop worrying about him sleeping through feedings? As long as his weight and diaper output are good, I can just let him sleep as long as he wants right? And pump to keep my production up?

Our pediatrician gave us "permission" to not wake for feedings at night when we exceeded birthweight. (which was 3 weeks for us).
Photographer is on their way to our house for some newborn pics... Little do they know my girls have been feisty alllll dayyy longgg. Can't wait to see how this turns out..

Hmm. Ok. He is currently 2 weeks. He had his 2 week follow up appointment on Tuesday and was already above his birth weight. So if that's the rule, I guess we are good.
@henryviii yes it's the larger dose in the dropper. I've been breaking it up and giving him .25 ml at a time. Definitely going to ask our pedi at the next appointment about the kind you suggested. Sounds so much easier!
@beckyk9109 I'm EBF right now but planning on starting to pump so DH can give him bottles sometimes. It said on ours we could mix it with milk so we'll definitely do that when it's an option.
Thanks for the feedback ladies!
I also can't wait to have my normal bras back! I always thought I wanted big boobs, but nope, I do not!
Oh my god! If your baby is having lots of gas and pain buy gas drops if you haven't already. Holy man what a difference even after just 1 time! Our LO has been suffering with terrible gas pains since we started her on formula during her daytime feedings and the nurse suggested gas drops before trying to change formula since that can make their tummies worse. And dear god it's a miracle!!!
I bf my baby and we use gas drops every feeding she is no longer grumpy unhappy baby. We also take her legs and push them up towards her belly saying push push push and she fats and poops and feels way better. I also started taking a probotoic and that seems to have helped too. I have her 1 month visit monday and im going to ask about acid reflex because she is still grumpy when we lay her down on her back but does much better on her side. Dh has terrible acid reflux so im wondering if this is also an issue for lo.
@hoodoll82 are you talking about gas drops? We mix the .3ml in with her formula before each feeding. Think it works better that way then to give it to them afterwards since you wait longer for the effect
I found that the pacifier causes excess gas for my LO. I've stopped giving him it and gas has been much better. He's actually able to release it himself without the gas drops or the leg bicycles.
Everyone was fine thank God!! Our truck is destroyed but it can be replaced. Baby girl never made a peep and is sleeping soundly. I will say Chicco car seats are pretty legit safe. It never moved. Poor DH is shook up bad. I know he feels guilty. I'll be paranoid driving in the rain from now on!

Ohmigosh! Glad everyone is safe and sound! Poor DH, I'll bet he is shook up! And what a pain for you guys to have to deal with this right now! Insurance and all that drama... Pffft.

Yea we were coming back from my appointment with the lactation consultant. LO is doing great though, and we have gap insurance so meeting the deductible won't be a problem. Doesn't help that I'm so tense right now it's killing breastfeeding.

I definitely am still shaken up. I've never had a near death experience before. It was the scariest experience of my life. Just one eighteen wheeler would have changed everything. Praising God to be alive this morning!
Had two glasses of my favorite white wine today and.....man I missed this. I mean, prepregnancy it would've been paired with a cigarette but such is life :-bd
