Yes it's a sin according to scripture but so is divorce, drunkenness, premarital sex, even lustful thoughts. It's America, you should have the right to make that decision. Not everyone practices the same beliefs.

    Couldn't agree more!

It's also a sin to tie an ox and a horse together together for purpose of ploughing but I doubt there would be a similar outcry from the bible bashers if someone was found doing that. I'm sorry if this offends anyone but I find people who quote the bible to back up their beliefs rather silly and hypocritical in the context of the modern world, especially when they tend to pick and choose which parts of the bible to kick up a fuss about.
Totally agree. The irony of them cherry picking which scripture to adhere to is that they say us socially liberal Christians are doing just that when we support LGBTQ rights. Pot kettle black. I also don't buy the "hate the sin, love the sinner" defense. That's just a smokescreen for homophobia.
Hooray for socially liberal Christians! I come from a very conservative Christian family, as does my husband. It's pretty embarrassing the amount of hate they spew and pretend it's love.

Eta: I mean my family, not christians.

Same here. Especially on my husband's side. My side of the family is a little less vocal since one of my cousins is very openly gay (and competes regularly in drag pageants) and also is a Christian.

  • Yeah you know what I do when I know something is a sin? I just don't don't do it/try not to. The legalization of same-sex marriage is not hurting me. No one's forcing you to suddenly be gay lol I feel a lot of the responses I'm seeing are coming from a mindset that we're all being forced to be gay now.

  • I've been so busy this week that I feel like I can't get on here for such long stretches. By the time I get back on, threads have blown up and died. I'm missing all the fun and feel totally jealous. :-<

  • The only thing worse than a miserable summer cold is being miserably sick with said cold while pregnant. I seriously feel like death... and my husband and i agreed weeks ago to travel the two hours to his parents house tomorrow to help all his siblings with the maintenance of their parents 2 acre property (in 100 degree heat) while they're gone for the next 18 months. Kill me please
  • I'm already getting the sads about how my boobs will look after dd2 finishes breastfeeding. Nope not because they might sag but because they will look so small again! I swear with dd1 they were even smaller than before I was pregnant. I was barely an "a" cup before...I don't want to think about where I'll be after...
  • My MIL randomly texted me late last night and said that she and my DH's step-dad who I absolutely CANNOT STAND, were taking a road-trip to our apartment. They will be here at midnight, and aren't leaving until Monday. They just invited themselves!! I'm out of town until tomorrow night and after being on the road all day, they're the last people I want to deal with. I told her I was out of town, but she still insisted on coming because my husband is home. I wish I would've put my foot down and said no. Ugh. :-/ I'm so annoyed right now. I just can't believe how rude people can be for inviting themselves over at the last minute. I like to make plans. Not have them thrown on me.

I guess this really isn't a flame-free confession, but whatever lol.

It's still REALLY early, even for them. I'm due October 6, will be 26 weeks on Tuesday . . . They can't be more than 31-32 weeks along. So it's possible, but I wouldn't freak out too much. But I hear ya about getting everything ready!

  • Yeah, September is my "true" board (I'm due Sept. 28, so I could really be either September or October), and these births were very preterm. Even the women at the beginning of September should only be about 31 weeks or so (I'm almost 27).
