Ok so you know how they weigh you at every appointment ? Well my prepregnancy weight was 145 im 5'2 1/2 and now i weigh 161 at 24 weeks. I've been eating mostly healthy and i don't understand where all this weight is coming from !

I dont know what to do . Any one have advice?
Re: Gained too much weight?!
My doctor actually said my weight gain is perfect . I'm not thrilled that I've gained this much at this point but I eat well ( ok I just ate an entire huge burrito for lunch) and am very active. Your body and your baby just does what it does and takes what it needs at this point .
1st trimester: 5-10 lbs
2nd trimester: average of a pound a week (roughly 13)
3rd trimester: average of about half a pound a week (roughly 7-8)
Healthy total: 25-35 lbs
The breakdown per trimester was helpful for me. Some women barely gain at all, or even lose weight, in the 1st trimester (thanks nausea and vomiting!) so they might gain slightly more in the second. And depending on when baby grows the fastest, you may gain more or less in either the second or third trimesters.
Actually, I am a little taller than you @EstrellaB and have also gained 16 pounds so far, but that was as of 21 weeks and 6 days. I eat pretty healthy some days and then others I do eat pizza or a burger. I have not significantly changed my eating (I may eat a bit more dhe to extra snacks) or exercise habits from pre-pregnancy, so weight gain is happening due to hormonal cues and pregnancy body changes. I think we all have to remember that: as long as we aren't pigging out or have become couch potatoes, most of the weight is just part of pregnancy. And when, where, and how quickly it is gained is governed by a complex dance of hormones we have no control over.
If you want to minimize any "extra" weight, I say don't eat less, eat better: reduce simple carbohydrates like bread and sweets and eat more vegetables and fruits. That's all we really have control over!
I am 5'4.5" and have a smaller frame so I really only wanted to gain 25 lbs. If this is just a time of fast growth and I slow down, then I might be able to keep to that goal. But looks like a little more may be more realistic. At any rate, even exactly what we gain doesn't determine how easy it will come off after- that's a fun soup of genetics, whether we breastfeed and for how long, exercise, etc. I've read on here that some women have gained over 35 and it still came off fairly easily. So we can have hope! In the meantime we hereby resolve our value is not determined by the number on the scale, and we value health over weight! Lol.
Ignore the number on the scale and listen to you dr!
@amberrmariee20, thanks for the hope!
With this pregnacy I've been on pelvic rest since 12 weeks restricting me from any type of exercise, not even able to go for a walk. I eat as healthy I as can but I am not as hard core as with my first. I'm pretty sure that because with the lack of exercise I've lost all my muscle and only have gained 7lbs (24 weeks). Doctors have not said a word about my weight this time. I know I was so much healthier last time. Numbers on a scale do not tell the whole story! If you know you are being healthy than do not worry at all!!
I know everyone's body is different but
I feel like I've gained more than I should have so far. I started out pretty slim and hoped the weight would be all belly but I've gained everywhere and I don't have a cute belly like I thought I would.
I can see 15 lbs for someone who's overweight, but my friend was probably toeing the underweight line to start with.
I've been trying to keep my weight gain down because I'm overweight to begin with (5' 2" and I started at 188). As of my last OB appointment, I was 201, though I was 205 at the gym this evening.
It's sooooo hard not to freak out about my weight gain at this point, although I've gained around 13-15 lbs so far (I don't fully trust that gym scale since I'm weighing myself late at night after drinking a ton of water). This wouldn't be bad if I wasn't overweight, and even if I gain 1 lb per week from here on out, it would still be around 30. Much better than the 57 o gained with DS!
All this to say, OP, I totally hear ya! It's frustrating to see your weight climb even knowing you're supposed to gain, especially if you have struggled with your weight in the past as I have.
But guess what? The weight DOES come off! I lost 20 lbs of water, baby, placenta, etc weight during DS's first 2 weeks of life. And I think that's probably pretty normal . . .
I hope she is not taking that instruction too seriously, especially not by dieting or something...
