Pelvic rest for low-lying placenta?

i was told that I had placenta previa at my 20 week appointment and was put on pelvic rest until my 24 week appointment. Last week I went in for my 24 week appointment and the tech said my placenta had moved up a little bit and was now low-lying and not previa, but did not mention anything about staying on pelvic rest. Anyone in a similar situation? Hubby is getting a bit anxious :-/

  • Call your OB depending on how much it moved, and the current position of it is crucial for the baby !

I would just double check with your OB! My placenta is low lying but my doctor said as of right now everything's fine and pelvic rest isn't necessary.
  • I had full placenta previa with my son, and now with this pregnancy, the same thing- go figure!  Since I have had no bleeding (with either pregnancies)  I have not been told pelvic rest is necessary.  Are you bleeding?
  • I'd check with your OB. My placenta is low lying, but I don't have any restrictions. I just need to have an ultrasound at 28 weeks to check on it.
  • Same as PP.  Low lying placenta w no restrictions recheck closer to 28-30 weeks .  I think it's best you check with your OB to be on the safe side.

I have a low lying placenta, and am going back for a second anatomy scan at 28 weeks (I'm 26 now). I was not put on any restrictions, however I would call your doctor just to be on the safe side.
