Gushes of water?

I'm 24 weeks and 1 day FTM and this morning I had a gush of water big enough for me to feel it come out and run to the bathroom. Then while we were cleaning I had another small gush. I called labor and delivery and they are suppose to have a nurse call me back. It's been about an hour and no one has called. I put a pad on and it is dry. There's not a consistent leak just gushes here and there. Should I just go in or wait to see what they say?

Go in. Could be your water leaking/breaking, and they need to monitor you closely if that's the case.

I was told by my nurse if it wasn't filling a pad within an hour and you are feeling movement then it's nothing to rush in for, but you'll want to make sure that nurse has the same opinion- I experience the same thing you are talking about every day, so I'm stuck wearing pads.

My friend had something similar happen to her where she had gushes of fluid and swore her water broke but turns out she had only peed herself. She was convinced it wasn't pee because it came out in a gush not trickle and was a large amount but crazy as it was it ended up in fact being pee and her bag was intact. Apparently this happens more commonly than we think when the baby puts pressure on the bladder. If still get it checked out just in case better safe than sorry

Thanks ladies. I came into get checked out. Doctor hasn't been in the check my cervix yet but I'm hooked up to the monitor and having contractions. I would have sworn it was pee except I felt it come right out of my vagina not my pee hole lol.

It's gross but I get gushes of discharge. Sometimes it's watery sometimes it is creamy. Hope that is all yours is. Thoughts and prayers

Thank you ladies for your thoughts! I was having contractions which they thought was from dehydration so I got some fluid. And my cervix was still closed and fine. They said the leaking was from bacterial vaginosis (I know gross) so they put me on some antibiotics and everything is good. Thanks again for your thoughts!

Great to hear! Definitely would go in to as I heard that is what water breaking feels like!

This happens once and while to me too.

Glad it turned out to be nothing serious, keep that baby cooking. We have a while to go!!!

I went to the hospital at 24 weeks with the exact same thing with my daughter, also turned out to be BV. It's so scary to be so early in labor and delivery and hooked up to all the monitors. Get some rest today !
