I want a very large, very pink prime rib w/ a patron & pineapple juice. I've had to talk myself out of the prime rib twice this pregnancy and settled for a medium well steak (doctor says anything Cooke more than medium Is fine in moderation).
I'll have to wait a bit as for me part of the joy will be walking into the butcher's and picking out a steak to make for myself. I refuse to ruin good steak by cooking it past rare, so I have abstained completely. It will probably include something completely obscene like fois gras as I love liver that's another no-no right now.
Then we'll probably get a special beer to celebrate. The dark Norwegian ones seem to be particularly taunting right now. I like what @LiveNLove44 is saying! I love my beer and wine and feel no judgement over the comment. I thought it was a really good point to indicate that as long as you practice moderation (which hopefully is the norm for people of discerning taste in booze anyway) you shouldn't have to waste; it's just a matter of learning how a breastfeeding mom's body processes alcohol. Gotta develop Baby's palate early!
Bourbon. Specifically, a classic drink called the Old Pal: equal parts bourbon, Campari, and sweet vermouth. SO tasty!!
I can't wait for some raw sushi, either. I had cooked shrimp variaties last week and just kept looking sadly at all the fun ones everyone else got to enjoy! I also can't wait to stop asking every restaurant if their soft cheeses in certain dishes are pasteurized-- I just wanna order without being "that" lady!
Subway Italian BMT. Foot long. Usually I get a six inch but after reading the not wanting to eat in labor thread, I'm sure I will be able to put away a foot long no problem.
I wanna have lots and lots of coffee. But sadly I have to wait until I'm done breastfeeding my baby before I go back to my addiction LOL. Still gonna be stuck with decaf for a year or more.
Okay, I must be living under a rock because I have never heard of this pumpkin beer that y'all speak of! I usually just drink XX with lime, or a Blue Moon with an orange slice. I have to try pumpkin beer this fall! Yum!

I love this thread!! I just want a glass or two of my favorite French wine...and maybe a salad with EXTRA feta cheese! Remember not to get drunk though, I read somewhere that being hungover with a newborn is its own special sort of hell..lol
Oh my goodness I'm counting the days where I can eat what I want I would eat my self some feta cheese it's my fav I would put it on everything! Then I would go for my fri
@furelise93 starting in August/September, go to a good local bottle shop and get a few different kinds of small brewery pumpkin beers. Most of those they actually make with pumpkin pulp and spices instead of artificial flavors. It is good stuff. They range from hint of fall kind of taste to full on pumpkin pie beer. My favorites from the top of my head are Elysian's Night Owl (a pumpkin pie one) and Weyerbacher's Imperial Pumpkin Ale, which is also great done as a black and "orange" with their Old Heathen Imperial Stout. That one you have to drink slowly. If it's your thing, it will be very drinkable and it will knock you on your ass. I love my beer, so it's very important to me that if you're trying it for the first time, you actually get a quality and accurate representation, not a poor macro-brew knock off, because those are nasty. I want a large coffee and a cupcake from Gigi's! I also want a large bowl of Chicken Pho spice level of 11! I get heartburn just thinking of a good spice level
@tate62610, I just got the visual of a woman immediately PP getting a round of jag bombs for the nurses and all involved served up by the doc. What a riot.
The sheer thought of having a pumpkin beer alllllll to myself is literally making me cry right on a public bench right now. ( Ahahahahaha! Being pregnant is so. weird.
Since it seems like we all love our Jimmy Johns, they should deliver us our sandwiches to the hospital gratis as a way of thanking us for being faithful patrons, until pregnancy that is. Lol
My eating has not changed much. I am however imagining a nice walk with baby in stroller down to the coffee shop where I order a fully caffeinated Americano. And then of course a glass of wine followed by a wedge salad with blue cheese that night after baby has gone to sleep. Big dreams, I realize!

I told my husband last night that while we are taking one of our classes at the hospital next month, I WILL be asking if Jimmy Johns delivers to the hospital!
Re: What's the first meal/drink you want to have immediately after delivery?
