Regarding "pumping and dumping" comments: To each her own, but as a woman who had trouble producing milk, pumping and dumping makes me so sad. Please read up on alcohol and breastfeeding and please talk to a doctor/LC before just dumping milk.
My first non pregnant meal will probably consist of a Narmer and a pumpkin beer. I am one of those who didn't have deli meat with DD, my OB still recommends not having it unless heated, so I will enjoy having a cold sandwich PP. It's the perfect time of year for a good pumpkin beer, so I'll enjoy that, too!
Either sushi (raw) or a cold sub!! I love susgu so much!!! And I used to eat a lot of lunchmeat but had cut down prior to pregnancy so I haven't missed it that bad. But there have been a few times where I was bummed not to have it. Also looking forward to moscato wine & soft cheese again!
Medium rare steak. I'm over this well done slightly charred meat thing. Not a big alcoholic drinker so not missing much but I'd probably go for a strawberry margarita.
I eat whatever i want now. But id love some good sushi and a big ass sandwich. Last time i thought that was what i wanted but then all i could think of was Lee's chicken strips, biscuits and mashed potatoes. My sister is a total foodie and always comes over with lots of good stuff. I know for sure I'll be hungry. That's always true.

You can also buy the strips that you dip in that test the milk ! I pumped and dumped when I went out over night drinking, but if I just had a glass or two I would test my milk with the strips first !
Glass of wine definitely! And since it will be October, a nice cold pumpkin beer. Most other things (coffee, deli meats, sushi with crab or Shrimp in it) I still have in moderation.
I'm still eating subway, deli meats, steak that isn't fully cooked but not bleeding still, love my over easy eggs as well. So I'm gonna have to say a White Russian (: !

With all due respect, can we post anything on this board without receiving a lecture? I thought this was a fun thread. I made the comment about pumpkin beer in jest. I'm certainly not going to do something that could possibly be detrimental to my child without consulting my doctor first.

@VioletandRose, I wasn't lecturing. I mentioned the common phrase "pumping and dumping" because it was mentioned/alluded to more than once early in our BMB and it's worth saying something about checking with a doctor before choosing to dump good breast milk. I don't think you understood what I was saying either, because my point has absolutely nothing to do with something that would be detrimental to a child. My post refers specifically to preserving milk if it can still be used as opposed to dumping it after just a beer. I also didn't target you specifically because you weren't the only one to mention the notion, so please don't take it personally.
Beer yeast is good for milk production. Guinness did the trick for me.
And you don't have to dump, just be prepared with extra if you're going to drink morethan a couple drinks. Only 2% of alcohol makes it into your milk. I have had a beer while nursing.
DH has already promised me a dinner with sushi- I've been craving a rainbow roll!- and a nice rare steak. I'm definitely a carnivore and have been skipping steak and such because I don't like the well-done stuff.
Oh, maybe some fancy cheese too! I've been skipping anything that could be unpasteurized. So goat cheese with fig sauce and those delightful little crispy bread ends will do
I've already told my husband to have a pack of Blue Moon on hand when I come home from the hospital. I usually only drink 1 beer a day if I drink at all, so it won't be an issue for nursing. I didn't have to pump'n'dump with DS; I'd usually just wait till I finished nursing or pumping and then have my beer.
A very large, and very strong strawberry margarita.
As far as food, I'm a picky eater so i don't really like the things I'm not "allowed" to eat (soft cheeses, deli meats, sushi, sausages, rare meats, etc)...so there's no good in really counting down to eat again.
But I've been craving ice cream this pregnancy, so maybe more of that
Sushi! One of my friends posted a pic of this giant platter of sushi she was eating and I wanted to cry. Also a chocolate milkshake and a maple bar, just because I feel like I can justify that more while I'm breastfeeding as opposed to pregnant
Re: What's the first meal/drink you want to have immediately after delivery?
Edit: iPhone typo

And I can't wait for Chinese food to taste right again! It hasn't been the same since I've been pregnant and I miss it.
