Anyone else out there...

...have a partner freaking out over the whole pregnancy to the point where he says he's not in love with you anymore and doesn't know if he wants to stay married, but he still will make an effort to be a good father?

Re: Anyone else out there...

  • I can't say I have had that exact situation and I am very sorry you are dealing with this right now.  That being said I have had marital problems in the past I can say 100% counseling saved our marriage and made our personal and joint lives so much better.  Does counseling seem like something he would consider?  Have you tried to talk to him after the fact to get a clear thought picture of where his head is?

  • I cannot personally relate to your specific situation, but I know you are not the only couple who goes through challenges like this when it comes to pregnancy and having children. It's so important to recognize it now so you two can begin working on a process that is emotionally safe and healthy for both of you and for the LO who is on his/her way. @bbiutmcph brought up counseling from a place of experience, and it sounds like that would be a great route for you two to consider. Regardless of how you move forward, I hope you take the time to address all of your own concerns and his; you two will both need plenty of support as you become parents and finding a way to provide that for one another would be huge.
