post partum healing tips

Re: post partum healing tips

  • I'm having severe facial swelling 3 days post c-section. It looks like it would be an allergic reaction to something. I was worried it was the pain medicine, but they told me it would have happened at the hospital if it had been the meds.

Did anyone else experience this? My cheeks are huge.

I had a massive amount of swelling post c-section because of all of the fluids they gave me while in labor and then more when we moved to the OR. I mean, my face and legs were HUGE. So far, 2 weeks pp, I've lost 20 lbs of that water weight, but it was gradual.

Yeah this tear is so awesome. I wish my DH would be as doting on me as in the hospital with it. I find myself cleaning, doing laundry, running around all day...... Bah!!!! It feels like I could push another baby out......

My sister takes one night feeding with LO and I do the rest. Tonight is DH first night........ To be continued lol

Give him a list of ish to do around the house. If I don't tell my DH to do things for me, I hop and around and do them and then pay for it later. :-(
  • Anyone have any advice on how to sneeze/cough painlessly? I have stitches on the outside and a minor muscle tear on the inside and no matter how much I try and hold everything tight when I need to it still feels like my insides are coming out :/ only 4 days pp so I know it'll take its time but would rather it hurt just a bit less each time since I tend to sneeze a lot!

  • My virginia hurts still pretty frequently. I just finished the norco they gave me...... Wondering how I'll manage without it!!!
Anyone else have an awesome 3rd partial 4th degree tear? \:D/
I love warm showers on my downstairs lol other than those and dermoplast I don't have any other great healing tips. Enlighten me.....
  • @henrytviii I am still doing cleaning and laundry but I am figuring out napping! Thanks for all your nice words!

Am I the only one who hated dermoplast? All it did was feel like burning. I also hated tucks until I stopped using the squirt bottle. Downstairs got a little irritated at the use of tp and that helped but I only used them maybe once every couple days. All that said, I had a very small episiotomy requiring one stitch, so that might have had a little to do with it.
  • @klkonwi I had 3rd degree tear and also had three major hemmoroids down south. I am having a harder time dealing w/ the hems. I had husband go get some stool softener to help.

7 days pp today and feel haven't improved/slow down at all. It's hard for me to do nothing around the house- really hurts go sit on my tush.

@slr1229 I have one giant hemmy lol........ I feel as if I am going to have to have it surgically removed. No one can ever tell me for sure if it'll go away or not...... Annoying!
I feel you. It hurts to sit anywhere too long. I ended up using my small boppy to sit on all the time around the house and used a diff one for feeding
The worst was having so many visitors and hobbling.......... Like you know they are watching you walk all funny and your Virginia hurts. So awkward

I need some advice ladies...... ESP Any medical ladies.
    It's a total poop conundrum
I've been icing, taking citracel, miralax, colace, 2 doses of milk of mag last night, and drinking so much water.....
I can't poop. It feels like it's all sitting there but can't get out.
Starting to wonder if he sewed my butt shut ...... Lol. No but seriously.

The least he could of done was sewn my Virginia shut. Don't need that shit anymore.........
But what is a girl to do?
I don't think an enema?!? Because id have to force the tip thing in there ?
    Help.....

I had a hard time too. I ate a lot of prunes, drank prune juice, and drank lots of water. I also got back on my probiotics. All of that was more effective than the Colace they gave at the hospital.

    Good luck!
