I love Nico! Sophia and Isabella are both pretty but soooo overdone right now which is why Inpersonally wouldn't consider them. Having said that they really would work with any middle name which is nice.
"Because we love Elvis" makes Presley even more eye-roll worthy to me.
Why? It's something special to them, and it IS a name, not just some made up word. I have a sentimental reason I connect with a certain singer and it means a lot to me and connects with certain huge memories in my life so it makes her name special also and I might use it someday for that reason. People have all different reasons for picking certain names but why is it so bad to name after a favorite singer?

Presley is a surname and should stay as such. It has also become majorly trendy as a given name, and I doubt there is a chance that had this baby been conceived ten years ago, they would have used the name. It is likely only because it has become more commonplace that they think this is acceptable. Names that honor hobbies, fandoms, or other personal preferences are usually in poor taste. It is one thing to think, "Wow, the name Audrey is beautiful and I like that it reminds me of the class and grace of Audrey Hepburn," and another to use an artist's last name as a name just because you are a big fan. I wouldn't recommend people name their babies Lennon or Jagger either. It just screams tacky.

I think I'm stuck in the quote box but... normally I would completely agree with you. However, because it's the middle name it doesn't bother me as much. Lennon or Jagger as first names are awful - but when it is "hidden" as a middle name it gives the kid a choice to either hide it - since really, no one knows your middle name, or make it known if they think that it's great. And Presley at least could seem like a family name (unlike Jagger, dear Lord).
My Hubby's grandpa was in Vietnam the same time Elvis was, they looked like twins and were mistaken for each other quite often. It's a fun little story his family loves to tell. Besides that, who doesn't love Elvis. you bet we would've named our baby Presley 10 years ago, but I would've been 11 years old. LOL. Thank you for the genuine responses!
I love Nico Presley and don't think Nicholas is necessary. It's a whole different name!
As far as for your girl names, I am a 1st grade teacher and both Sophia and Isabella (especially Isabella) have been super popular in my classroom and grade level the past couple years. I actually had 2 in my class this past year.
If you go to nameberry.com you can actually type in the name you are looking at and see where the name is on the popularity list and where it has been in the past. Currently Isabella is #4 and Sophia is #3. So they are both definitely super popular already and are just getting more and more popular each year. So while they are both beautiful names I wouldn't use them unless you want your child to have to go by their last initial all the time in school. Hope this helps!

Except Elvis was never stationed in Vietnam, he was stationed in Germany.
ETA: Elvis was also discharged in 1960, a year before the U.S. entered the Vietnam war. Mr. Presley didn't serve during wartime since he was drafted after the Korean war & before the Vietnam war.

Lol, yeah I was confused when she said Vietnam.. that's not even the same time Elvis was in the service! Sounds like a phony story.
I agree with nico. It's a nn, like that of ur husband. Your child deserves a full name. Isabela and sophia are too popular and not pretty imo.

In spite of the popularity, I love the name Sophia. I think it's classic. Isabella is just nms however I think most names that work with Sophia will work with Isabella.
Sophia Marie (looks like your mn may be Maria, so this may be a cool way to give her a piece of you!) Sophia Audrey (same thought as above) Sophia Nicole (a piece of your hubby's name) Sophia Colette ( also derives from Nicholas, if that's your man's name.) Sophia Elizabeth Sophia Camille Sophia Christine Sophia Jade (NMS but may work for you.) Sophia Joy Sophia Alessandra Sophia Elise Sophia Rose Sophia Helene

I'll never understand why people need to lie to a bunch of strangers on the Internet about stuff like this.

Okay, but there's also the possibility that this is a fanciful story that OPs family tells the kids. My granddad used to tell me that the ocean drained every night so that a cleaning crew could clean it up. Of course, I didn't buy it but he kept it up and it makes me think of him and smile. So regardless of the validity of the story, it may mean something to them. And yes, I agree that it's a fairly horrible name, but in the middle name spot it's pretty harmless.
Haha it's very possible I told the story wrong. We do have pictures of them together, so no lie here. Of course no one has to believe me, was just letting you naysayers know why we chose Presley. Thanks for the comments!

I just figured if someone says they're such a big Elvis fan that they're naming their child after the singer, they would know more about him. I am a huge Elvis fan & my childhood dog is named Gracie (after Graceland & Gracie Lou Freebush). That's as close as I'll get to naming something after things/people/places I love.

Oh, I'm thrilled that you needed to resort to being the grammar police to try and deflect the fact that you are choosing an awful name with the assurance that "you and the hubby love Elvis" and seemingly do not know simple facts regarding him. And in your previous post when you were all, "Sorry you feel that way". I never said I FELT anything. I said that if you loved Elvis so much to name your offspring after him, you'd know him better. You also stated that your family loves to tell the story, then I would think you could recall it correctly because you've heard it plenty of times.

Aw somebody doesn't like being corrected? All you have achieved is making yourself look like just another keyboard warrior with too much time on her hands because OP likes a name that you do not? And you were lurking? Sure. Thanks for the entertainment though!

Why yes, I was lurking. Not sure why that's a hard concept to grasp as I post/lurk on many boards?
Not sure what a keyboard warrior is exactly, but it sounds like quite an accomplishment. And she can like whatever name she wants, but she can't outright lie that her relative was in Vietnam with a celebrity when it's public record. So I'm sorry that I take issue with a fabricated, embellished story that is suppose to substantiate OPs reasoning of using a surname as a first name.
