Stretch marks

Hello ladies. When I was pregnant with my son, I tried the Cocoa butter for the belly lotion then Bio-oil for my stomach. Even with lathering up (I'd say at least 75% of the time) I still had stretch marks. Maybe I just didn't do it enough, but have any of you found something that really worked for you??
Also something that I can use for my breasts...even during Breast feeding??

Re: Stretch marks

  • I'm so sorry but you are one of us ladies who have the genetic predisposition to stretch marks. Stretch marks are deeper than the first layer of skin so lotions etc won't really take them away but it will help with itchiness. I have very deep ones on my lower belly because of my son's size and position. I wish I had a better answer for you, just commiseration.

For the most part stretch marks are genetic. I think those creams and such may help some but they won't keep you from getting them unfortunately.
I haven't even gained weight yet, but I already notice a couple of stretch marks on my abdomen. Ugh

  • I'm sorry to say that stretch marks are mostly a genetic thing. I think you did everything right to try and prevent it from happening by trying to stay moisturized. I only used coconut oil during my last pregnancy (actually I was gifted the Earth Mama Angel Baby Stretch Oil and used some of that too) and I do not have stretch marks, just a tiny few on my breasts. With that said, my mom did not have stretch marks either and she had 3 of us. I would continue to stay moisturized and drink lots of water and hope for the best.

All of this. You could sit in a tub of lotion/oil for the 9 months, and unfortunately if you are genetically predisposed they will still pop up. I know I look like a tiger from my first, just hoping I don't get even more with this one. Lotion does def. help with the itchiness though.

  • I already had stretch marks from puberty so I didn't bother last time since I knew I would get them. They faded a lot but ar coming back again.

I think you either get them or you don't and nothing will prevent them. That said lotion helps keep the skin from itching and being painful.

I use a lotion call Vani Cream. I get a huge tub from walgreens. It had no dyes or perfumes and is super thick so it lasts all day. I put it on my whole body at least once a day.

I got stretch marks from puberty too. I remembering being very disappointed, because no one else in my family had ever had stretch marks. My mom actually thought they were a myth or a part of a disease. She actually took me to the doctors when she noticed stretch marks on my legs when I was about 10 or 11 years old.

I got boobs and hips at 10. There was no way that skin wasn't going to stretch out!

I got stretch marks during puberty but NOT during my first pregnancy. My sister got really dark stretch marks during her pregnancies. I used burts bees mama bee or coconut oil every day and I believe it helped a lot.
I'm on pregnancy two and using the same oils again this time.

I have some that are dark and some that aren't and all of the women in my family have them somewhere.. We especially get them on our inner thighs.. And hips... But pregnancy brings them to our stomachs but the ones i have gained from when I started adding on pounds about a year ago are on my stomach but they are almost skin tone which is kinda nice but there are some red ones... I'm learned to just embrace them and if people wanna talk then let em.. It's a part of me and i can't change it so might as well learn to live with them.. But that's just me and I know every person and body is different

    Edit because of spelling
  • I use palmers for stretch marks before during and after pregnancy and it def has helped lessen the visibility of my stretch marks ( and I got a ton!) I just put a thick layer rubbed in well on after a shower every day and it has helped mine!!
