Hi I was wondering when did everyone find out the gender?
I'm a ftm and I'm 15 weeks 2 days, and keep reading ppl finding out the gender before 15 weeks around 16-20 weeks.
I know high risk pregnancies you can find out sooner, but what's the normal time to find out for a typical pregnancy??
Does it depend on the dr? I have an appt 16.4 weeks and hoping that appt I will find out? Or is the gender scan a separate appt???
Helppppp

Re: WHEN DID U FIND GENDER?
I'm 14 weeks this week and we are going to a sonographer at the end of the week to see. My best friend had it done at 12 weeks 4 days by the same person and she was correct. Another close friend had it done at 13 weeks by the same person and she was correct as well. We are 'need to know' kind of people. If anything, we'll get to see the baby again. I've spent much more money on less things in my lifetime.
When I went for my 13 week appointment, we couldn't hear a heartbeat but saw the baby on the ultrasound. At this point, after not being able to hear the heartbeat then, I'll take an ultrasound every week if able. Do what you're comfortable with. Everyone has their own thoughts on this one. Also, all sets of grandparents are going away this coming weekend and if we can tell them it's a girl or it's a boy...they can have a ball shopping! haha It's just a fun time and enjoy it!!!
I found out his sex at 20 week anatomy scan.
I will be finding out the sex of my baby ANY minute now and it's driving me crazy! I am not a patient woman.
With our son who is now five we found out the sex at 18 weeks at our anatomy scan.
Personally I wouldn't trust an early us enough to bother doing it. I'd agree there's a good chance they are correct but I wouldn't be confidant enough to start buying things. Have fun with it if you want to though

So I will possibly be around 20 weeks but they said I could find out around 15 weeks.
There is a person who constantly argues the opposite of what you just said and always/only comes out on these posts. Nice try though.
My it's cute how distinguishing between gender/sex makes people feel soooo important!
In ordinary speech, sex and gender are used interchangeably! So get over it! This is not human sexuality 101 I've already taken that class! Lol
Oh wow! That sounds fun! Was it expensive??
Tech said unless he has a tail it's a boy
We are still doing our gender scan at 18 weeks to confirm but the tech said once it's there it doesn't fall off!
Your over the top reaction is a bit much. Just because you use sex/gender interchangeably doesn't make it right. Maybe just say "hey thanks for sharing that with me". Defensive much?
At this point, continuing to use them interchanably is not only lazy, but shows a total disregard for an entire population.
Also, in my "everyday talk" I do not use them interchangeably, I try to communicate clearly and intelligently by saying what I mean.
This is a serious social issue that you're making light of. People die because of the lack of knowledge in this issue that is newer to the general public. But, hey, who cares? You're in grad school and clearly cannot learn anything outside of class.
I don't blame anyone for not knowing the difference. However, as Oprah says, when you know better you do better.
