I guess all of this huffing and puffing is to be expected since I'm 38w4d and just went on a walk in our super hilly neighborhood but geez, I sound awful! Great work out though, even if I was moving at a snail's pace!
Yeah, I was totally going to be that girl who was running right up until the end. Ha. But at least we're still getting out and doing something, right?
With the boy names for girls... and I don't really think it's a big risk with the name we've picked because it's been pretty popular for a while, but my fear is more that the name won't remain unisex - that over time the name will completely become totally a woman's name, to the point where no one even knows it was ever a male name. Like, I know a male Courtney and a Cassie. It's gotta be annoying to constantly be correcting people that automatically address them as Ms.

I also went to school with a girl named Brett, she was beautiful and the nicest girl ever (and she loved her name).
Brett Ashley from The Sun Also Rises is one of my favorite fictional characters and I've always wanted to use that name... But she's too tragic. I love that you knew a beautiful Brett.
I'm doing diaper genie. I am not walking down and then up two flights of stairs just to get to my trash outside. It's great if you are in a town home. I also have something similar for my kitty liter so storing poopie sausages for a few days at a time doesn't bother me. Besides I heard that if I go down the stairs more than twice my uterus will fall out postpartum lol....I wonder how that poster is doing or what other crazy things her mom has told her!

My mom told me this! I don't remember if I posted about it or not - maybe? But I asked the pediatrician at our prenatal class what restrictions there were for stair use and she said that there aren't any except not to carry baby the first few times you go up and down just in case. She added not to overdo it though, but I think that applies to basically everything.
We used a diaper champ with the twins. It was helpful bc we lived in a two story townhouse. Nothing this time around. I'll just throw it outside in the big trash
Why do people who have never posted before contribute to, in particular, HDBD and the birth announcements threads? Do they think we care at all? Even if they don't get that we've created a sort of community over the past 8 months, why would they think any random person would care? I truly don't get it. Posting on their own FB/Instagram/Twitter/whatever isn't enough and they need more outlets to AW, is that it? I'm over it.
And JFC with not reading any of the previous posts before making stupid comments on threads. If my eyes stay in my head over this holiday weekend I'll be amazed. They always come out over the weekend . . .
ETA: I made it sound like my eyes come out over the weekend, but I meant the random posters! Funny.
We use the arm and hammer one I like that there's a little capsule in the top with baking soda that dispenses a little baking soda into the bag each time you close it to help neutralize odor and the baking soda capsule is refillable. It is really helpful whenever you live somewhere that has more than 1 floor
Hey man. I haven't been here for 8 months I've only been here for 4 months. I'll just take my diaper genie brand diaper genie and go. >-
J/k, obviously. I got a diaper genie elite cause I have a 3 level house. The DG will stay upstairs for nighttime changes. During the day we are in the lowest level and can just take out the yuck to the garbage in the garage. The DG was only $30 or so. Maybe it'll be a useless product, maybe I'll be jazzed that $30 saved my sanity. Who knows.
As for the randoms, it's tough cause I want them to feel welcome to contribute (I remember being new. It's kinda scary :-SS) but the balance is difficult between guiding them like young lambs and keeping a tight rein on my annoyance that they don't bother to look around first! ~X(
Doesn't help raging hormones make me Dr Jekyll and Ms Hyde >-)
@mellymar Of course I didn't mean you! I don't even mean that you have to have been here a long time to be welcome to contribute. I mean, for the love of everything, recognize that a community of sorts has been built, and we do things generally in a certain way! Yes, look around, read some posts, do some searches, comment a lot before starting threads, all of that stuff. I'm totally cool with someone saying, "hey, just found this app last week and have been looking around. I have a question. . . " Go for it. SMH - I know it's pointless to get upset because it won't change anything but if only wishing made it so.

I actually don't mind the random posts on the birth announcements. It makes me so happy to see all these happy, healthy babies being born. Besides, it's just a picture and some details, no "I have a baby does this mean labor could start soon?"
I just keep telling myself that once mid-July hits and all of our babies have been delivered, this should be a regular-only zone... finally! Assuming the regulars are still around. I plan to be!
@Frogger5 I know you didn't. I'm just giving you sh*t. But yes, I know what you mean. Generally people don't just walk into a party full of people they don't know and start shouting about their lives. And if they did IRL then the reaction would be similar, non? A bunch of people you don't know looking at you like - wtf? This girl cray. Whippersnappers. I tell ya.
So I read that Twins thread yesterday before anyone had commented on it and I was smh at just...the outrageousness of it, I guess? Weird as hell thing to post out of freakin nowhere, sheesh. Just now I saw it's been getting some attention and I couldn't help but lol at the responses she got! Shout out to those ladies who said what I was thinking waaaay nicer than I could have!

I totally agree about the random posting, especially in the birth announcements. I keep my eye on them for people I recgonize, but there's always so many people I haven't even heard of so I just skip over them. I can't wait until some more regulars start having their babies!
Totally random...the Dr that assisted with my twin delivery was the same Dr to deliver Christine's baby from Sister Wives. Does this make him a celebrity Dr??? Am I famous now???? Haha! )

My bump has gotten so big that I can't do dishes without splashing water on myself anymore. I'm starting to wonder if it's safe for me to cook - it's one thing to splash water on myself while doing dishes, but now I'm starting to worry about burning myself!

I'd say if your partner is an excellent cook or your mom is....it's time to announce that is no longer safe for you to be in the kitchen except for snacks you will need their immediate assistance . Your doctor says so. If they cook like I do....well maybe get a nice sturdy apron and some oven gloves! \:D/
Funny story. My mom and sister came today to help clean and get baby things ready. They even helped me clean out and organize my cabinets and drawers to make room for bottles and baby stuff. So as we're going through the drawers my mom pulls out a wooden meat mallet and dead serious looks at DH and says "do you beat your meat?". I lost it. My sister turned her back and just tried not to laugh. DH tried not to laught, but he cracked up, too. I've laughed about it all day.
I placed mine through edgepark too for the Madela like a week ago and it's still Not here ... I'm jealous! Hope mine comes soon cause I can go into labor anytime now and I def want it to be here when I come home from Hospital @shaq818

PS, after DS1, my OB sent us home with a packet of info on postpartum care. There was a list of restrictions/recommendations on the front page for the first few weeks postpartum. It legit said not to walk up and down the stairs more than twice a day the first week or two. I don't think my uterus was at risk for plopping out, I think the idea is to limit bleeding. I didn't stick to that rule every day, but did find that I had more bleeding/cramping when I did too much in general. So that's all I got on that one...
I really hope so, baby was breach friday but I'm pretty sure I felt her turn and I feel the hiccups down in my pelvic area now, I really don't want a section, scares the hell outta me, I'll be 37 weeks Wednesday
@house86 Have you tried sitting/bouncing/rolling on a big exercise ball? If you have access to one, give it a try! I was convinced baby went breech a week or so ago (felt kicks in all the wrong places and could tell her back/butt were not where they had been) and at last check after some bouncing she was back to being head down. Worth a shot.

Meantime, I've been a whiney jerk. Sorry y'all. Will be puppies and ponies this week.
