I have tomorrow off, and a good friend is staying with us tonight, but leaving late morning for the airport. I bought yummy pastries and am looking forward to a relaxing brunch tomorrow morning... And a very lazy day!
My co-workers threw a surprise baby shower for me after work yesterday! I figured since it was my second child and a lot of them went to my shower with DD they might just get me a nice card which would have been fine but they went ahead and surprised me with a swing I wanted for DS and a gift card and food! It was so nice and unexpected I almost started crying but managed to keep it in haha
Speaking of ponies, going to go check out a new horse Saturday hoping it works out! She's a sweet old girl who would be perfect for my almost 3 year old step daughter to ride.
My mother in law is coming down to spend the day with us tomorrow (she lives an hour away) and my 3 year old is super excited! Plus my small baby sprinkle is Sunday.
My mom is coming to stay until the baby is born and help us get ready by cooking freezer meals, grocery shopping, cleaning and decorating the nursery. Plus she gets to keep her granddogs company during the day so they aren't so lonely! All this bc hubbs and I are both so busy and still working and our closest family is 12 hours away.
I went make up shopping and had the girl helped me with some application tips! I left looking like a glowy version of myself! It was so nice, especially since I know I won't be getting that after ds is born!
Went to the hospital today to find out what we needed to do to pre-register (we went to an info session, but are dealing with a foreign language that I am only intermediate in). At first the woman at the desk told us we would have to call tomorrow morning to make an appointment - but then a super nice midwife came and took pity on us, and just registered us on the spot! She spoke slowly and was really patient, so we completed the whole process without any English.
Made DH and me really proud of our language skillz and feel very comfortable, knowing we picked the right hospital. Also, looks like I will be able to try a water birth, which is really exciting for me!
@Addelie congrats on your engagement!!! Such awesome news!
I managed to mow the lawn today and honestly was surprised I could still fit between the seat and steering wheel, so that made me feel good. I LOVE a freshly mowed lawn! Also managed to buy and slice up some fruit today for easy snacking. Next is salad prep!

I love mowing the lawn with a riding mower! I had a few, um, incidents when I was doing it as a kid (all trees, barns and mowers survived, thankyouverymuch). But still. It's fun.
Saw one of my favorite patients today, who is 6 yrs old. Her mom brought me a big box of Lindt chocolates since this will be the last time I see them before baby arrives. The 6 year old then proceeded to tell me that it was up to me if I wanted to share them or keep them just for the baby. >:D<
I bought my sons a doll today...and my one little guy has been playing with it all day! Feeding it, putting it asleep, burping it, changing the diaper and so on! He's going to be such a cute big brother!
I am slogging through a paper that has a soft deadline of today, and it is one of my last obligations before maternity leave. It is beautiful outside, and I just realized that in two weeks, I will have four months of no obligations other than caring for a newborn! The garden/yard of our apartment is beautiful right now, and the idea of just chilling for a few months there with DH and LO is heavenly!
(Yeah, I know my little fantasy is overlooking the post-delivery recovery, and sleepless nights, etc. but that's ok for now.)

I'm excited DS crib bedding came today,so that's exciting. Also I successfully painted my toes without help from DH (super manly, I know).

@amark11 yay for lovely Germans and a potential water baby - I'm also keen to try out the water.

I love how most of us mentioned food. I had a taco for lunch and coffee ice cream tonight... Baby likes!
