I started buying things my first pregnancy and it followed with bad luck. This time I feel a lot more positive. My MIL thinks it's a boy, she thinks she is psychic and the spirits confirmed it. ( pray for me for dealing with this ) it's not bad to grab things such as a crib and or changing table if the go on sale. Just don't bring it in your home. That was the hardest part for me was seeing all the baby stuff and me no longer being pregnant.
I'm almost 16 weeks. We are not finding out the sex so no reason to wait til a certain time. I already bought the crib/mattress, high chair and dresser and some sheets to have extra. Ordered this bc I work for a retailer it it was associate shop days so instead of paying 1500 for all I got for under $700. Totally worth saving money. Still in boxes. I also got a barely used cheap bassinet and umbrella stroller from a rummage sale site bc I couldn't pass up the cost. I also got a ju ju be diaper bag bc I didn't want the pattern to sell out. I won't register for a ton of big items bc all my family lives out of town and I am traveling for the shower. I still think I have a ton of stuff to register for since this is our first. If I get anxious or excited I might buy a little thing here and there while out like a stuffed animal. No big deal right?? I think We may paint nursery this weekend so it has time to air out, and our summer weekends are pretty busy with weddings and stuff. Can't wait to set up though, will try to resist until 28 weeks or so if I'm not getting too big.
We've picked out just about everything, but will try to wait to buy furniture until the half way point, just because I'm known to change my mind. The only purchases we've made is the mamaroo and breeze play pen as we found a great deal.
We just found out we're having a boy. You can't help but to want the best for your child! I have been buying shampoo, detergent, and small things. They're on sale so why not?!?
I am having my third but thought I was done so I got rid everything several years ago. I had really hard time during my third trimester with both babies (bed rest for weeks and one preemie) I am definitely getting everything out of the way early this time. I am 14 weeks and have ordered crib, mattress, travel system, swing/bouncer, play mat, nursing pillow and cover up. I will buy clothes and everything else gender specific as soon as I find out the sex!
Try the amazon lightening deals if you have Amazon prime... I just bought a baby gym/mat significantly discounted and I always see pack and plays there.
I'm not getting anything until we find out the sex, which will be June 17th (if all goes according to plan). Not knowing has definitely made it easier to resist, though.
I had my son at exactly 37 weeks, so this time around I feel like I need to be more prepared. I too feel a little crazy cuz iv already started a registry and have added boy and girl things that I like lol I figured ill just delete stuff when I find out what I'm having. We are also moving into my MIL house for awhile so it makes me even more anxious to get things set up! I dont think I'll buy anything unless I don't get something we need from the baby shower, but I'm just so excited and can't contain it...and I don't want to
