Where will your baby sleep?

Re: Where will your baby sleep?

  • Rock n play in our room for the first few months, then moving her into the crib in the nursery. I am going to try to get her to nap in the crib though so she will get used to it.

I didn't even think about putting them in a crib right away. We bought a twin bassinet pack n play but I am thinking I want them in their cribs right away. @Emilywooddesign how old do you plan on keeping your twins in the same crib? Until they can roll over and move? I feel like they would feel more comfortable being close by each other but on the other hand I'm a FTM and afraid of SIDS.

I'm a FTM too- We were gifted a night nurse who specializes in multiples for the first month- I met with her last week and she said that twins really like to sleep together and you put them head to head and not side by side- she said to keep them in the same crib until they are about 3 months and then move them to their own cribs.

I'll have to try that. Thanks for the advice!
  • The plan is for LO to sleep in the pack and play in our room while DH is off work, but when he goes back we'll transition her to her crib.  I'm open to this plan changing though!
  • Our LO will be in a bassinet on and off atleast for the first few months until she out grows it, was looking into a rock n play but after reading reviews and warnings(recalls) etc. think she has a better chance in the bassinet this is my 3rd so I'm just gonna play it safe :)

Mine shared a crib until 2 months. My one son learned to scoot in the middle of the night and we were worried that with his swaddle he would suffocate his brother. That kid is still a mover ;)
  • I've always used a bassinet in my room until they were too big for it and then transitioned them into their crib after that. It worked well for my other 5 kiddos, so that's what we will be doing with this one. We already have his crib set up in the nursery just incase plans change.
