Hmm.... I had to look up the acronym, and I wouldn't consider myself an AMA, but I will be 35 when the baby is born and I'm a FTM.
You'll be considered AMA at the OB's office. It just comes with a little more attention or genetic testing offered. I wasn't sure how to feel about it when that described me first time around haha
39 & 39 when I deliver ... EDD 12/25/15 ... There's one other mama here with a DD right after mine, we can have a virtual Christmas / New Years party together
This is baby #3 (still a little in shock about that!) I have a 5yo DS & 2yo DD. Oh and their BDs are 12/22 & 1/6 ... Someone has a sense of humor with this EDD being 12/25!
I am 37 will be 38 when we deliver.. This is our first.. We had a difficult time conceiving and finally conceived after IVF.
We did IVF also… That was last cycle and unfortunately it didn't stick for long. It was a very big surprise to us to find ourselves here again (on a break cycle) Hopefully this will be a happy and healthy nine months for both of us… Make that all of us!
I am 36, this is # 4, and my "baby" turned 8 last week, I feel like so much has changed in the last 9 years. This pregnancy is very different already, curious if it's due to age lol
I'm almost 39. This is my 5th baby on the way. My oldest is 19yrs and my youngest is 18 months! Yikes! I've had my last 3 babies at home (first was a transfer, all turned out ok) and plan for another home birth.
Haven't done a formal announcement or introduction, but I am 40 and will be 41 when LO #2 arrives. Big sister Ingrid is two and four months, will be almost three when baby arrives. Thought I might be the oldest, but I see I'm not. Still nervous about being here, had a loss before Ingrid, right around this time (seven-ish weeks).
I turned 36 a few days ago this is my 3rd child I had my 1st at 21 my 2nd at 27 and this baby is due on my eldest daughters birthday the 31st of December which it's bound to come on that date as I seem to like giving birth on the 31st of a month as my son was born on the 31st of May
Have any of you mommy's decided to do the genetic testing? Any results?
I had my blood drawn today for the Panorama test. Doc said general results are 7-10 business days, so we'll see. I did the MaterniT21 test with my daughter.

I'll be looking forward to hearing all about your appointment! Hopefully it went well?

I will be 38 when #2 is born. I was 35 with #1. Had Maternit21 taken earlier this week and waiting for the results. DS has down syndrome so I want to know before hand. ...even though we had testing done with him and were told low risk
Hey! I'm 34, will be 35 when I deliver, DH will be 42. This is my second baby, his third. Both of our youngest children and this one will be 13 years apart. When I was "granted" the AMA title, I nearly cried, but the nurse, in both an attempt to comfort and humor me, said that women 40+, were referred to as EMA. "Elder". Yeah. I joked with DH that he is EPA. Personally, I hate the AMA title, and especially the EPA, but... age is just a number? Anyway, looks like I'm down with the genetic testing too!
@Jenocal I don't know if "EMA" is really a true thing. Perhaps she was kidding around? Either way, though, I think I am much wiser THIS time around than I was the first time, so maybe AMA/EMA isn't such a bad thing? ">
When I wrote my question earlier I was waiting to do the ultrasound for the early test for genetic, and what I found out was I am 15 weeks along not 13 weeks like thought. So now I have new due date of 11/19. So go in for one thing, and come out knowing something different. Lol...
I'm 34 now but will be 35 at delivery. My insurance doesn't cover The genetic testing :-/ but I hear there are a lot of false positives so maybe I'm not meant to get it for that reason
41, baby! And single. Doing this whole thing on my own. On purpose. This will be my first (due on Christmas) but plan to have 2 kids. So prob pregnant again at 42.5 or so!
I am 37 and this will be my first. We have been trying since I was younger, but alas… Hopefully it will be this time around! We would definitely like to have more than one, but we will take one healthy one at a time. Thank you for starting this! It's nice to have other AMA's.
High five, me too. You're like me, we look kiddish for our age Hopefully whatever gene keeps us looking 10 trickles down to our eggs this is my first child, second pregnancy. I got pregnant at 25 but miscarried. I didn't want children at all until i met my husband who was so keen to have them he changed my mind.
Re: Any AMAs = 35+ out there?
