August 2014 Moms

Question from August 2015

I am due with my 3rd baby August 21st and this will be our first girl. I am trying to figure out what I'll need for clothes as I live in Wisconsin and the temperature that time of year varies. Any advice for what I'll need?

Re: Question from August 2015

  • We were gifted all our clothes. My daughter (born 8/28) is 11th percentile for weight so she's almost 8 months old and still in 3-6/6 month clothes. Layering has worked well for us.

  • By DD was due August 21st 2014 but was born the 3rd. I live in Vermont and i really did not use alot of summer cloths as Vermont weather saying is wait 5 mins and it will change. Layering worked well for us and also sleeveless sleep sacks as you can just throw over there pjs in case it is cooler.

  • My advice would be to keep the summer/short sleeve stuff in newborn or 3 month sizes and get warmer (long sleeve onesies and such) for the 6 month size. Also layering is always a good idea! And muslin swaddles have been amazing in any season!

We love our A&A blankets. Perfect for warm days/ nights and they have a million other used as well.

  • Muslin swaddles!! I live 1 hour from Boston and we used them all the time through summer, fall, and that horrendous winter. I found a pack of 3 at Marshall's for $15 and I love them!! We have tons of cotton receiving blankets we never use.

Also, if your hospital lets you take home a blanket or two take advantage of that! We used our hospital blanket a bunch when DD was itty bitty!
