I'm currently taking 50mg for anxiety and feel like I need to bump it up. I've been trying to avoid up-Ing my dosage but I don't think I can stick it out any longer
I've been taking 50 mg for awhile now. My doctor told me if I start to have more down days than good days, to call her and she'll up the dosage. Her philosophy is that having a healthy momma is far more important than avoiding any small (unproven) risks of taking the meds while pregnant.
I take generic Effexor in small dosage and doc said that's fine because panic attacks/depression is harder on baby than my piles would be (and nothing proven from SSRIs on babies health). So trust yourself and body and talk to your doctor especially if you fear postpartum depression!
I am. I tried coming off of the Zoloft in the fall, but it went really poorly. All of my doctors agree it's better to stay on if you need it and it can always be decreased in the third trimester to help with withdrawal in the baby. I honestly couldn't imagine not having it right now - it's such a life-saver.
You're not a bad mom! The doctors are completely right as far as this medication goes. Stopping it will cause withdrawal. You take this medicine to stay the best version of yourself. I suffer from depression and anxiety and let me say it holds a lot of power over you. Keep doing what your doing.
Don't feel bad at all! I am not taking Zoloft but I have had to stay on a very low dose of Valium for a chronic pain condition. People act like if you're not sacrificing yourself entirely than you don't love your baby but that's just ridiculous. Being pregnant is hard and there's no way that an anxious, depressed, panicking (or in my case bedridden from pain) momma can be good for the baby! So little is known about medication in pregnancy and generally speaking even if you're increasing risk you're increasing the risk from VERY VERY small to VERY small. Be happy and healthy and listen to your doctors, thats the best any of us can do
Oh my goodness. I have been on klonopin since I was 18, I'm 26 now. Dr just switched me to zoloft && I freakin hate the way it makes me feel. All shaky && yucky feeling. Stopped taking it. I'll just stick with therapy twice a week.
I'm not but my best friend did and she gave birth to a big, perfect, healthy, happy baby boy in January! He is thriving and currently ahead of schedule on all his milestones. Don't stress over it, healthy happy mommy is better for baby good luck ladies!
I am 100 mg. this is my 3rd pregnancy and my first two pregnancies were awful because I completely got off of it during my first tri. This pregnancy the Dr decided for my sanity it was better to stay on it
Re: Is anyone taking zoloft during pregnancy?
