Impatient or Infertal?

Hello,

I am curious to see some others take on this. Me and my husband have been TTC for about 8 months now with no luck. We were pregnant once before about 3 years ago by accident and i MC. I had the implenon ever since then for birth control, taken out last May. Obviously i know we are able to get pregnant since we have been before but i cant seem to think that ive done something wrong between then and now. How could we have done it by accident 3 years ago and then now we are getting nowhere after 8 months? My OBGYN told me that it is more than likely because of the affect of birth control still in my system but as i happen to be a web addict i have searched and searched and have found nothing about women having no success because of prior use of BC, just the opposite in fact! Doc told me to just stay calm and keep trying and that they will not be concerned until we have tried and failed for at least a year. Am i being paranoid and impatient? Should i look into a fertility specialist? Has anybody else had issues becoming pregnant after having the implenon?

You're being impatient.

You have a 20% chance each cycle and it can take a healthy couple a year to conceive. If you're not temping/using OPKs to detect ovulation you could be missing your fertile window completely.

Ditto. Chart your BBT or use OPKs and if you are still not KU in another four months, make an appt with an RE. You can find one here: https://www.asrm.org/euclid/detail.aspx?id=2328.

Pregnancy #1 was achieved easily for me as well.
Now I'm currently trying for #2 and on cycle #9.
Like you mentioned, in the back of my head I'm questioning. But nothing has changed health wise for myself or my dh so I just have to believe it will happen when it's meant to happen. I finally started bbt so I'm hoping it will help me out.

Thank you for all the replies! Im a very impatient person so the wait is awful! Good to know im not the only one out there. Ive tracked my ovulation every month since off of BC and have taken notes of every symptom in the book every month. Due for next AF on thurs. Crossing fingers!
