Having a girl next month but still not set on a name. Hubs and I don't particularly agree on names. Really wanted something with Hebrew/biblical origins, but just don't love many of the choices. Current list: Isla Neve Selah Eden Ruby Clementine India Luna Esme
I just wanted to offer some encouragement to the mummies who feel like others on here don't like their chosen names! Keep in mind the names we see in the real world- some honkers! Most normal people don't care as much about names as maybe we do in this name group lol. I say go with what you love

You do know Camden is the name of one of the most dangerous cities in America, right? Would you name your child Detroit or Compton?
@LizWhiz87 your opinion is rude and unwanted (ie the rest of my post) Camden is becoming a popular name and it is a Scottish name, not one after a city. 2 celebrities have used it: Kristin Cavalari and Nich Lachey. Must be good enough for them and they live in the states. I live in Canada. I could comment my opinion about your name choices but I will not because if you have nothing nice to say you shouldn't say it. Please be more careful before you comment on people's chosen names in such a harsh way. Cast your shade elsewhere please.

I was just pointing out a fact. I wasn't rude at all. This is a forum, so it is absolutely the place to share comments and opinions. I personally wouldn't want to name my child after such a dangerous place, but if you do, that's on you. It's a wonder why you would get so defensive, though, especially after your role models "Nich" Lachey and Kristin "Cavalari" already cosigned on your poor choices. (See that was rude - but you asked for it).
@Lizwhiz87 I'm pretty sure the thread is about sharing your list. Not necessarily "tell me what you think". I don't disagree, it is okay to share opinions but your wording could be improved upon. I am sure you would not speak to someone in person with such a tone and lack of a filter.
I will not even address the rest of your comment seeing as this is not the mean girls high school cafeteria.

I am an adult, and I hope the rest of those posting on a pregnancy board are as well. I don't think I need to soften my tone or adjust my syntax for anyone. I wasn't insulting with my first comment, just pointing out that a name she liked has negative connotations. Once I was called rude unnecessarily, I retorted with sarcasm. I didn't whine about needing people to walk on eggshells for me or kiss my ass, I just gave back what was given. It's an internet forum, not high tea with the queen, so such polite formalities are not needed. You will find plenty of other blunt, unfiltered opinions on here, so if they offend your sensibilities, I suggest you look elsewhere for smiles and sunshine. Regardless of the topic on the forum, we are all here to share opinions and give guidance to others, so I will do so as I see fit. I do not need to be policed by those who are so easily offended.
I find it incredibly hard to think of naming my own personal children , so far I'm trying to pick ones that I don't outright hate saying out loud or would have to speak outloud forever! I don't know why this is so hard for me.
And from what I thought even thought I've seen and read the why spelling matters post I feel like a name DOESNT have to have meaning... But maybe I'm wrong. Lol that's just how I feel about some of the names I love but others don't
I think that is exactly the point that people have missed today that makes name calling a baby almost a 'humorous spectical' these days.
Words and names have meaning based on language, whether people choose to accept or not and what you name your child is initially the meaning of their name being called out also.
I know my names will get no love on these forums, but we're both really happy with our picks. Team green, so we have our final choices for each sex and then the back ups, or little sibling names. The girl mn are street baby's maternal great grandma and paternal grandma
Lloyd Huckleberry Eugene Cirrus (SO wants Gene but I think it looks too incomplete) Sigourney Marlene (nn Ziggy) Oswin Rebekah (nn Winnie)

e.g. Angelina (Angel) meaning 'Messenger'
