Re: PgAL Check-In 3/20/2015
Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones? We moved across the state yesterday so I have my first appointment with a new doctor on Wednesday. I'm quite nervous about this. I've had the same midwife who attended my birth and helped in my C-Section, then walked with me through all of my follow-up and the first 28 weeks of this pregnancy. I've really connected with her and I know she is just as concerned about my emotional wellbeing as she is with my and baby's physical wellbeing. This practice and the specific doctor come highly recommended and are basically at the best hospital on this side of the state. I'm not a high risk pregnancy myself (my son died when he was four days old), but they are pretty much where everyone high risk gets sent. I'm just nervous because it isn't my midwife with whom I feel very comfortable, he's a man which I know is totally normal just new for me, and it is a doctor instead of a midwife so I know care will be different. Besides the whole filling out all the paperwork, explaining everything to the doctor and to every nurse who asks me stupid questions because they don't know my story. Sigh.... I really wish I could have stayed with my midwife.
Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions? I pulled my back a little in the moving process. So I've been very sore, but with so many things to pack and unpack I haven't been able to rest much.
QOTW: What have you found to be your best outlet during this pregnancy? Do you write, exercise, talk with hubby, etc.? What helps ease your fears? Exercise has definitely helped me although I've had a lot of pelvic pain the last few weeks which has really limited my exercising. I'm in a lot of pain for days after I exercise, but if I don't I feel down and frustrated that I'm not helping take care of my emotions.
Open Topic. What is on your mind this week? We put together the baby's crib last night, in his bedroom. We lived in a one-bedroom apartment when our son was born, so we just had a bassinet set up in the corner of our bedroom. We knew we would be moving before he really needed his own room. It seems exciting to see all the baby stuff in one room and see the crib set up. But at the same time it is hard because Zedekiah never had a room, I never got to decorate for him and put his things away. I guess it just makes me think this is just the first of many, many things that will come that I will hopefully do with this baby that I never got to do with Zedekiah.
6 days.
Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones? Weekly appointments and NSTs from now until delivery.
Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions? I'm still throwing up about once a day. I'm assuming it will last until delivery but I don't mind because I'm so close to the end.
QOTW: What have you found to be your best outlet during this pregnancy? Do you write, exercise, talk with hubby, etc.? What helps ease your fears? Exercise helps (water aerobics has been my lifesaver lately!) and talking to my husband and a few select friends. A lot of the mantras that I've learned also have helped me a lot.
Open Topic. What is on your mind this week? I remember getting my positive test and feeling like April was a million years away. Like @dadalou, we are three weeks away at most and it feels surreal that we are so close to delivery. I am incredibly nervous and have moments where I worry that something will go wrong but overall, I feel really lucky that we are going to meet this kid soon and hopefully bring him home.
@dadalou - you are so very close. That is stressful not knowing for sure where you'll deliver and if you'll be induced. I hope your cold is better soon. Can you go take a tour of the other hospital sometime to at least feel a little familiar with the place?
@Bgirma - you are so very close. I'm so sorry to hear you are still sick. It's hard not to worry, but it is very exciting too. I'm glad your feeling positive.
Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones? appointment in 2 weeks
Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions? craving protein and fruity things
QOTW:
What have you found to be your best outlet during this pregnancy? Do
you write, exercise, talk with hubby, etc.? What helps ease your fears? Meeting with our loss group at our local hospital, this group, writing, talking with DH, being outside (it's been hard with the winter we've had).
Open Topic. What is on your mind this week? It' exciting to think how much closer I am getting, but frightening too because we lost my son day of delivery so I really won't be able to not worry until his sister in in our arms.
