Leg cramps

I don't get them that often...in fact the last one I've had was a couple months ago...however I woke up last night and had 2!! My leg muscles hurt sssoooo bad today :( people keep telling me to eat more bananas but I do just about everyday..... Other than the cream sample I have im not sure what else I can do to help with them. Not to mention the restless legs I have at night. I refuse to take any more meds. I've taken way more than I ever wanted to during this pregnancy and I am now trying to avoid them as much as possible! Lol oh such joys! Are any other women dealing with these discomforts? And how often?

  • There is a symptoms thread that would be a more appropriate place for this.

    My OB recommended avocados and cantaloupes in addition to water. She also said to up my calcium and protein.

  • my doc said it's too hard to get enough magnesium via food and thus put me on supplements. my cramps are gone.
  • Also try taking Vitamin D 3... See if you doctor has checked your vitamin D levels bc low ones can cause the awful leg cramps and it can also cause difficultly sleeping... Our regular prenatal vitamins don't have the daily dose of Viatmin D in them. I actually finally just bought me some vitamin D 3 pills today to start taking!
