How to put in siggy?

I know this is detailed somewhere on the site, but I couldn't find it. I found out how to paste in a siggy, but how do I make it permanent? Right now, if I were to paste it, it would only appear in this post.

In the right hand corner there should be a globe, envelope, star and bust. Click the bust, this is your preferences. Then on the left click signature settings, put it in and click save. I believe that should work.
