High HCG levels 2 weeks after D & C -- Just slow to fall or indicator of need for a 2nd D & C

Wondering if anyone has been in this boat. 

At exactly 8 weeks miscarried and had a D & C (no heartbeat). All went fine. Minimal pain and bleeding. One week after D & C beta was 6,842. 2 weeks and 1 day later beta was 6,192. My OB feels this is too high and dropping too slowly and may indicate "retained products" and an "incomplete procedure" and the need for a second D & C. My RE doesn't seem particularly worried and thinks we should just wait it out and at most do a course of Cytotec.

I'm pretty unsure of what to do now . . . I'm not bleeding and am in zero pain, but also in a big hurry to get betas to 0 so we can start IVF.

    I'm sorry for your loss. I have had the same experience but I think I'd rather have the cytotec than an additional d&c. Good luck, keep us updated
