I'm a social media specialist and graphic designer for an arts and crafts company. So far I haven't dealt with much nausea, but the mid day hunger has been unreal. I have to keep plenty of snacks at my desk at all times!
I'm an ecology graduate student on a research assistantship, so I basically get paid to go to school. I study microbes and how they can be used to predict aquatic ecosystem collapse.
I'm an Instructional Specialist. Work with students K-5 throughout the day in small groups and also teach 4 dyslexic groups. Winter storms helped with 3 ice/snow days and spring break this week. I'm 8 weeks 4 days and nausea hit couple of weeks ago. I was also noticing shortness in breath while teaching last week. I try to keep crakers and snack on me to help with nausea. I hope this ends soon.
I am a hospice RN and have been for 5 years! I love what I do because people and their families let us come in at one of the most sacred times of their lives. Its hard work but I enjoy getting to know people and hear their inspirational stories. You learn to not take life for granted!
Im a regional human resource director for Brookdale senior living. I work from my home office in GA and travel around GA, SC and MD. So the travel complicated my situation some but my boss is super supportive and the company very family oriented. So far I've done ok on nausea - If I exercise I have zero nausea. If not just have to keep snacking.
Used sea bands on my trip this week to Nashville for a meeting. And tummy drops. That helped - I get motion sickness anyway so that hasn't helped lol.
I am in Nursing School, graduate in May, also work as a Student Nurse on the Med Surg floor here in Sarasota Florida. I was a Paramedic in Tennessee for five yrs.
I work in a sawmill as utility. Basically I clean everything and run machines throughout the day. Luckily being "cleanup" I can go to the bathroom whenever because my nausea makes me gag a lot
I'm 8 weeks pregnant, And on zofran for nausea!! When will my nausea end??!! This is my fifth pregnancy and just as nervous as with the first... I want to sleep all the time. Advice ?? Any encouragement.. Feeling sorry for myself
There's been a lot of talk about zofran causing cleft lip and palate wasn't sure if you had heard or not
I'm a playwright, and Stage Manager, also working 2 days a week doing accounts at a Theatre and Film Lighting company... have become very familiar with the toilet bowl at work...seem to puke alllll day and night (sigh the miracle of life!) still none of the boys have picked up anything..except I've stopped making everyone buy sushi for lunch when I'm in. You guys have amazing jobs! Cake decorators? Yum!!
Environmental scientist - I reclaim old wellsites for an oil company in Alberta. I think I'm saving the environment, but it's mostly paperwork! I love my job though; hopefully with falling oil prices I'll still have one until mat leave kicks in If anyone wants to chat about environmental regulations for conventional Oil & Gas operations, hit me up! lol
Thanks everyone for sharing their professions; it's very interesting.
I'm an Executive Assistant at a Graphic Design and printing company. I do some graphic design, office work, answer phones stuff like that. I'm so glad I get to sit down most of the day.
I am a veterinary technician. I work 50+ hours a week. Luckily, I haven't had any nausea so far and I'm 8 weeks at this point. My main struggle is my massive IRRITABILITY!! It is so hard to keep my attitude in check lately. I also get really tired during the day, especially after I eat. I wish so badly that I could be a SAHM!! We just can't afford it though. Looking forward to maternity leave!!
I'm a veterinarian. I love my job! Some days rank higher on the nausea scale than others though (like draining abscesses and expressing anal glands). My staff is great at assisting with lifting heavy dogs and taking radiographs for me so I can avoid it altogether. I've been lucky to only have mild nausea so far that has been pretty well controlled as long as I snack frequently. The full-time days are tiring, but I'm hoping that will pass soon (I'm almost 11 weeks along). I've enjoyed reading about all your professions : )
I'm a Stay at Home Mom, with a 3 yr old DD, and a Work-at-Home-Self-Employed Husband. He does Land & Building Survey's, and I run an ETSY shop that specializes in baby blankets and bedding. Although, I guess I'll have to close my shop.
I'm an aerospace engineer and design early concepts for satellites and other spacecraft. I've been on OTC version of Diclegis (vitamin B6 and Unisom) which has barely kept me functional. Things are really busy at work right now so I haven't had a lot of time to dwell on my nausea. Just have to work through it!
I'm a social worker - but was made redundant after telling them I was pregnant (supposedly not connected). So I am returning to university study and stay at home mum to 2 beautiful kiddies.
I'm a Camera Assistant in the film industry, currently working my way up to being a Camera Operator. Which this pregnancy kinda has thrown a wrench in the timeline, but I don't mind. The job has good and bad days, but I love it and there is a particular crew that I work with a lot who are like my second family. Since I'm freelance I can pick and choose the jobs I take, so I've limited myself to in town jobs during the first trimester. And I try not to pile to many days in one week as we can easily go 12-14+ hours, which sometimes can be hard with the fatigue, but I find if I take naps on my off days I can usually power through the work days. (Though I miss my caffeine!) I've thankfully only had nausea and no vomiting, so I pack a bunch of ginger chews from Trader Joe's and I bring lots of snacks that I know I'll eat. We have crafty (snack food) on set, but I can't always guarantee it's stuff that won't make me nauseous. The crew I normally work with noticed that I was quieter (I'm a suffer in silence kinda of person) and kept asking me on the last job we did what was wrong! I love them and can't wait to tell them! I did tell my boss so he helps me out a bit more then he should. My hubby is in the business too, so thankfully he understands and helps advise me on which jobs I should take and which he thinks might be a good idea to turn down. I could be a SAHM after the baby is born since he makes enough, but I'm leaning toward, just reducing my days/jobs. I just love my job way too much. I'm a baker as a hobby. I love baking cookies and cakes to bring to set! Here's a pic of my chocolate chip cookies with sea salt and a banana chocolate chip cake with peanut butter frosting I made for someone's bday. Hubby's b-day is coming up and I can't wait to bake something for him! Hopefully whatever he chooses doesn't make me nauseous though.
I'm a SAHM and I actually just started doing full time child care for a friend of mine. So currently it's just my 15month old DD and her 3month old DD. Once I get the hang of two I might add more kids, but we'll see. The nausea isn't too bad so long as I stay ahead of my hunger. If I want until I'm hungry to eat, then nothing sounds good and even if I eat, I spend the rest of the day feeling like crap.
I am a research assistant in a university medical laboratory trying to find some new cardiovascular medicines. I plan on having a bit of career break though when the wee one arrives. Thinking of also switching career to have a more family friendly job.
I'm a Computer Programmer. I only get nauseous when I'm hungry so as long as I have a piece of toast before I get to work I'm good. Our company buys us lots of snacks so snacking is a major problem for me.

I am an attorney mediator. I run the mediation program for an appellate court. I really love my job! Before, I was an associate at a big local law firm, which had good sides, but it would have been hard to work 60 hours a week while pregnant/new mom. I am glad I made the switch.
I'm a speech-language pathologist at a sub acute rehabilitation center where I work primarily with adults post stroke, tbi, and spinal cord injury! Love every minute of it!
I am a dental hygienist 4 days a week. Morning sickness till about 10:00 and then it restarts at about 5:00. Not the easiest job to do when you don't feel good!
I'm a Professional Pet Stylist. I can have a nice easy day with 5 clients or have the most stressful day ever with 13! I've been so tired there lately and STARVING! There isn't much time to stop and take a break when you have so much to get done. I've been trying to bring granola bars etc to at least hold me over. My dr is worried about my lifting and getting kicked by the larger dogs. And OF COURSE after that visit where she said that I go to work and an old English sheepdog gave me a big ol kick to the side! Ouch! But overall I ask for help lifting and most of the dogs are on their best behavior
I am an on-site manager at a hospital that manages medical equipment and I also help out in the sterile supply for the operating room. I love doing the OR stuff, like making up trays and sterilizing tools (like for OB). Very interesting work!
I'm U.S. Navy. I currently work as a pharmacy technician at a hospital. Some days are better than others depending on where they have me working. Most of the time, I am in the main OR making sure all of the rooms are taken care of. Makes it difficult to snack since nothing is allowed in the OR. Our other pharmacies are nice because I can have snacks with me.
I'm an X-ray technologist and I work two or three days a week. One of my shifts is 16 hours which can be very hard but my coworkers have been helping me out a lot! As far as morning sickness I really don't have any unless I don't eat enough and allow myself to go too long between meals.
I am a full time ER Nurse. I've learned to bring lots of snacks to keep the nausea at bay.... this will be my first baby and I am not looking forward to being on my feet 12 hours a day in my third trimester.
I have 2 part time positions working 6 days a week; I am a CT Technologist. I do CAT scans on all age groups. Luckily I haven't had any morning/day sickness. My biggest issue is being so tired and restricting caffeine.

I work part-time in an Alzheimer's/dementia care unit but I am primarily a student. I hope to enter the nursing program next January.
