abnormal contractions

have any of you ever experienced contractions lasting anywhere from a few minutes to close to an hour? that is one single individual contraction holding it sell for that long. If so what did your doctor or hospital do?

I haven't experienced this. I highly recommend calling your dr.

my first pregnancy I experienced these contractions. Calling the hospital and my doctor, they told me that it was not possible. I was mistaken. A week or two later after experiencing this just about every day they hooked me up to their equipment and saw that indeed I was having such contractions.they said that they had never seen anyone have contractions like this before. They had to consult with Nashville and Knoxville doctors and hospitals. They were concerned for the safety of my baby. And said that I most likely would have to have an emergency c-section. I did not. Her heart rate stayed strong and steady the whole time. But I am now currently almost 26 weeks pregnant. I am concerned that I will have the same contractions again. I'm afraid this baby will not be able to tolerate such hard contractions. I will end up having to have a Emergency c-section. I have never heard of anyone else experiencing anything like this before.
