Well yesterday I spent 6 hours at the hospital after an NST in the office. I'm almost completely certain the nurse had the monitor positioned in such a way that it was reading my heart rate and not the baby's. The alarms were going off and no one was coming in. I finally got a different nurses attention and they adjusted the monitor and it looked ok. The doctor however wasn't convinced what was going on so off to the hospital I went for more monitoring. Turns out it was looking at my heart rate. If you can't tell mom's heart rate from baby's, that's a bit of an issue though. I was laying there reading a book for a few hours and my heart rate was 140. Yeah read that right. Lowest it went in the 6 hours was 115. The doctors weren't really happy. I got checked out by about 4 specialists before they finally gave up and said they couldn't tell what was going on. Fortunately I got to go home, and didn't get put on bed rest or anything. I guess since they ruled out anything big, there wasn't much to do about it.
