Hi!
I am brand new to the bump community! My husband and I are TTC and are having some difficulty. I was on birth control for 11 years. I started when I was 15 and I was on many different types of oral contraceptive throughout that time. While on the pill, I had very heavy and irregular periods. I lost a great deal of weight while on the pill (over 120lbs) and I would have lots of breakthrough bleeding. I thought my weight loss was causing my BTB but My gyno discovered (much later) that this was do to Hypothyroid disorder. Then, I had my thyroid removed because of thyroid cancer. My body has been through a lot in a short amount of time!
My body has finally gotten into a normal pattern and my thyroid levels are under control! My husband and I were ready to TTC.
I went off BC September 2nd. I had about 2 weeks of a withdraw bleed. I didn't have my period for 4 1/2 months. I finally got my period January 14th! I was so excited and ready to get pregnant! I bought an ovulation predictor kit and went through the 10 sticks with no ovulation. I'm now on day 39 of my cycle. No period and not pregnant (I've taken 3 tests every 2 days)!
I had some blood work done to check my hormone levels and will get the results Wednesday! My prayer is that everything is ok and normal! I'm praying my body is just trying to figure out how to ovulate after being suppressed for 11 years!
Has this ever happened to anyone else? It's a little scary looking online and trying not to scare myself with information overload! I've diagnosed myself with a multitude of things already!!

I know that I still have a long ways to go and many options to try, but it's been almost 6 months and I've had 1 menstrual cycle.
I talked to my gyno and if things still don't go back to normal by April or May we will try Clomed.
All I can do now is wait and pray and leave it to God! Thanks for any encouragement, support, and suggestions!
Re: post pill amenorrhea/irregular menstrual cycle
Fingers crossed that you will get your lucky BFP before April. Definitely stick around and let us know how you're doing!
