@Knottie00400192‌ I totally feel you about the overpriced CA cities! I've lived in San Francisco for the past 12 years, and I grew up an hour north in Sonoma. Gotta move to another state, though, cuz my hubby and I will have to work our little fingers to the bones here to ever be able to afford our own home ($600k for a quasi dump!). I will be sad to leave my family, but I can't wait to move away from perpetual summer! I like the seasons...We'll probably move to MN where DH is from.

I want to move out of state so bad but just scared to take that leap. Are you guys moving first and then finding work or transferring? Ugh, just tired of the high California prices.

I hear you!!! My idea is to maybe live with DH's parents for a bit while we're job hunting in the Twin Cities. My other idea -- more like dream -- is to move to the Pacific Northwest where it's beautiful and cool and green with lots of rain. In that case, I imagine I would have to line up a job in advance before moving since DH is self-employed and it will take him a while to build his business wherever we end up moving to. In the meantime, we are trying to keep our expenses as low as possible, save, and take advantage of the relatively high salaries in SF before taking our savings somewhere cheap and buying a lovely house that we would never be able to afford in the Bay Area. Until then, new little baby will be sharing our closet of a one-bdrm apartment with us. It's gonna be interesting!
