implantation bleeding or something else?

Tomorrow I will be 7 weeks..due Oct 8th.... this morning when I woke up I saw a spot of brown blood in my underwear...maybe the size of a top of a pencil. It increased to then on toilet paper and now on pantiliners. It has been brown, not crazy heavy (one pantiliners lasted all work day) and cramping no different than normal... anyone else experience this? First pregnancy and freaking out. I didn't know implantation bleeding could happen as late as 7 weeks

Re: implantation bleeding or something else?

  • From the reading I have done implantation bleeding typically occurs 6-10 days past ovulation. I didn't have it for my first pregnancy but I did for this one. I believe it occurred 7 days past ovulation which would have been at 3 weeks pregnant. The bleeding was just brown blood and lasted part of a day.

Maybe call your dr. Just to check?

  • Hello ! I am having the same problem, I woke up yesterday with brown spotting and I still am today, not enough for a pad just using a panty liner. I was worried and went straight to the doctors they took my blood and checked my hcg levels and they came back normal but I have to go back tomorrow to make sure they are rising. After researching around brown spotting is very common in early pregnancy even light pink. They say it could be the beginnings of a miscarriage or could just be broken blood vessels on your uterus from it stretching which is not a big deal, and of coarse there are a lot of other reasons also. I would still probably call your doctor to see what they say just incase, they may just check your levels a few times and maybe follow with a sonogram. I you tubed a lot of "spotting in early pregnancy". Videos and the info made me feel a lot better, try it !! And good luck :)
  • I had the same thing earlier this week when I was at 5w5d. I called the doctor's office right away and they assured me it was nothing to worry about. The doctor said some light bleeding can occur after sex or after any lifting or straining which can burst cappileries in the uterus and cause some spotting. She said even having a difficult bowel movement can cause enough strain to cause spotting. As long as you don't pass any clots or it doesn't turn into enough blood to need a pad you should be okay. Sure enough by the next day I noticed the bleeding had stopped. If you're at all concerned definitely call your doctor though and see what they say!
