Potty Training and toddler bed for #1

Baby #1 is 20 months old. #2 is due in late March / early April (when DS will be 21 months, almost 22 months). We haven't started toilet training yet and didn't plan on it until after the new baby was here. However, we want to start soon after the new baby is born. We expect some regression in his skills, issues with sleeping in a toddler bed, etc. How long did it take for your older one to get back to 'normal' after the second one was born? We want to get over that first. I'm wondering when everyone else started potty-training with their older child? Did you wait until everything was settled with the new LO in the house first?

On a different subject, we're in the process of transitioing DS #1 to his new room so we can convert his room into the new nursery. He's still sleeping in the old room for now. We may have accidentally come up with a good transition technique. We boxed up some toys he wasn't interested in a few months ago. We started unpacking them in his new room last week. Now he wants to go in there and play all the time with his "new" old toys. He LOVES going in the room and sees it as a special privilege.
