I agree with topaz7777. I never bought one because it's just going to get gross from delivery and then what do I do with it after delivery? I didn't even bring a bathrobe or anything with my daughter. When I had my son in 2008.. I had a bathrobe that my mom bought me and I wore that over my hospital gown once he was born. With my daughter I just used the hospital gown until I was able to take a shower and then I just changed into my comfy clothes.
They are not cheap either. I think the ones I looked at on Etsy were anywhere from $40-$65
With our first the hospital gave every mother one after delivery. At first I thought it was nice, but I could not figure out what to do with it. I donated it. I have always just worn the hospital gown. Once I showered I put on PJs.
Before you buy, ask your dr if the hospital you will deliver at will even allow you to wear something other than their hospital gown during delivery. I know some don't.
I would spend that money on some nice things you could wear the day after delivery and going home etc. Most of the time after deliver I would wear a hospital gown for the rest of that day while the bleeding is really really heavy. Then the next day I would wear a comfy lounge or pj type outfit. A couple times I put on my clothes I brought once I took my first shower but I did end up bleeding on them! I brought extras with me and changed into something new.
