Hello, I was a part of this group a while ago before I conceived my second child. I ended up getting pregnant with him on my second round of 50mg Clomid days 3-7. He is now a happy busy boy and we have been trying to have another child but alas it seems it is just a difficult as with him. When my husband had his analysis it showed he had a good count but low motility and morphology but not so bad that it should prevent us from getting pregnant naturally. I checked out fine and don't have any trouble ovulating. They decided to try Clomid last time in hopes that I would release more than one egg to give the sperm more targets. Obviously it worked so therefore, we tried the same thing this time. I have now completed 2 rounds of 50 mg Clomid days 3-7 again but no BFP. My question is I'm trying to decide if I should continue trying this same protocol or move onto something else or just take a break. I know too many rounds of Clomid in a row can thin your lining and don't want to cause that. Anyone here have any luck with Clomid after the first couple rounds or did you find you needed to up your dose or move onto IUI etc. I will also be speaking with my doctor about our next move but thought I'd gather some advice from others who have maybe been in a similar situation!! Thanks in advance!! :-)
Just since I got my cycle back after having my son as we wanted to start as soon as possible since it took so long to get pregnant with him so 9 months or so but only 2 months with Clomid as we were hoping maybe it would happen naturally this time but since it hadn't yet our doctor decided we may as well just start on the clomid again since it worked last time :-)
How do you feel about trying naturally a bit longer? Are you eager to push treatments now, or what? Personally I would not want to do too many consecutive Clomid cycle, it builds up over time, and just causes a hormonal nightmare- but that's up to you.

Ya that's kind of where I'm at is that it definitely builds up and I don't want it to get worse than it already is symptom wise or cause any damage that I don't need to. On the other hand I'm nervous about ending up taking a really long time getting pregnant again as we always wanted to have 4 kids but would have liked to be finished by next year when my husband turns 35 so we've already been discussing just stopping after 3 if it doesn't happen very soon...I feel like we should probably take a break if the odds aren't in our favor that it would work soon but wanted to hear some other experiences to see how more rounds of clomid effected others or if it worked for them or if maybe a different treatment made a difference :-)
I think I did a total of 4 rounds of clomid. It made me a crazy person with the hormonal changes. And my lining did start to thin out. They then switched me to femara which was so much better. After two rounds of just clomid I started doing IUIs. Good luck.

Thanks jen4ny, I have already noticed increased side effects and hormonal changes after 2 rounds so I assumed it just got worse the longer you take it, maybe I should ask my doctor about femara, does it have any negative side effects or thin your lining like clomid? I don't have any experience with it at all so maybe it would be a good thing to look into :-)
Oh sorry, I thought that group was for people that weren't ready to use meds or other treatments yet? I must have misread their description, thanks again! :-)
