MN suggestions!

We're naming our little man Madden (you'll either love it or hate it) but can't agree on any middle names :-S

I think it should be a long MN, 3 syllables or more or just a 1 syllable name. I'm a fan of Madden Alexander but DH isn't....

Also,DD has my husband's initials so if you can come up with a cute E name for Madden, that'd be great! (I'm Megan Elizabeth LN starts with S and is 2 syllables)

What if your kid is in band and choir?


Something so strongly associated with football aka a legend is tough. Your son will spend his entire life either getting jokes about how his dad must have loved John Madden or jokes about how his lack of athletic ability is hilarious considering his name should he be a quite accountant who can't catch a ball.

For the record, my husband doesn't even watch football and has never played the game Madden. He works on computers in the Air Force.

Every kid is at risk for getting made fun of, and everyone will have their own opinion of his name, good or bad. Every name can be associated with someone or something, who cares.The only opinion that matters is ours. I don't recall asking for anyone's opinion of the name itself...just for MN suggestions.

Our reason for choosing it is personal and one that I don't feel the need to share. In the end, we like it...

The thing is though it's not just a game. It's John Madden he is an icon you don't associate the name with anything else. People are going to have an opinion about it plain and simple. It's like using Tide and saying well we don't even use the brand we just like the sound. It's still such a common known thing that. every single person will assume you are obsessed with John Madden. This is something your child will hear his entire life whether opinions are asked or not.
