Nerves!

Does anyone else feel like their nerves are on edge? Even though I've seen and heard the baby's heartbeat at my 8 week appointment (thank goodness)!, my mind is racing and my nerves are on edge about my upcoming appointment next week. Is this normal? I can't stop obsessing about every little twinge, symptom, lack of symptom that I'm having.

I'm the same and I think it's pretty normal.

My last pregnancy ended in a miscarriage so I am nervous this time around, but even my first pregnancy (which was completely issue free with no concerns) had me on edge.

I wish you all the best for a H&H 9mths

yeah...totally normal.  Even when I am sure everything is ok I get nervous going to the doctor.  When I get to where I can feel baby moving everyday and know things are fine there , I worry going to the dr that they will find protein or something in my urine!  A lot of the time I end up getting a BP that is on the higher side because I get so worked up and they have to retake it...after I take a few deep breaths and relax a moment!

I am right there with you!  Am at 15 weeks and went for an appointment on Monday.  I was worried that they wouldn't hear a heartbeat.  I don't know why.  But, everything was fine.

I don't think I'll relax until week 21 and even then I'm sure I'll find something to be concerned about.

I'm at 22w and still get all jittery before an appointment. I don't know if that's because of the IF struggle or it's just part of the normal process. The internet, other people's tragedies, the news, the world at large, all that information just piles on and at times I don't know what to think or which direction to look. I think we all need to do what @cneiding does, take a moment and breathe. Women have been doing this forever.

Yeah, I was pretty bad at first. I think the hormones and fatigue just compound the nerves. I've gradually relaxed, especially since a positive a/s. Well, sort of... there is still the 24 week viability to get past. And from then, I think I'm just going to full of nerves about actually giving birth!

I feel that way before every appointment.  It does get easier when baby gets more active though.  I mean when you can feel them moving all day long, it lets you know that they are still there.

I think anyone who has experienced a loss can relate to that feeling! I know I can. Honestly, I don't feel safe until that healthy little baby is cradled in my arms.. that's when I finally relax. It's hard to be pregnant after losing.  It kind of takes the innocence away from it all when you're so aware of the things that can go wrong.  All we can do is pray and hope for the best! What always helped me relax a tiny bit was telling myself that nothing I did could cause anything to happen because otherwise I was too nervous to do anything at all.

I'm definitely nervous all the time and on the days of my appts, I'm even more nervous! I don't have high blood pressure but when I go to the doctor it is ALWAYS high. Not alarmingly so, but still higher than usual. I bought a home blood pressure kit and take my blood pressure regularly and bring the log chart with me to the doctor because I want them to know that it's always abnormal at the doctor.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only Nervous Nelly!

Me too. I try to remember that some things are simply out of my control and that stressing out over them will not help. Occasionally, that strategy works. :p

I still feel this way even a nearly 24 weeks. I don think I'll be totally at ease until I am holding her in my arms.
