Tuesday Talk

I've got nothing better than that.

For those of you who read my post last week about DH.  In case you're interested... he cleared all the snow off my car this morning and warmed it up for me.  All is right in the world again.  (Then I proceeded to complain that he tracked snow in the house and my sock got wet - I'm an awful wife).

We also got in a really dumb fight last night about which side of the sink we should put the garbage disposal in and how the sink will be placed in reference to the dishwasher.  We're both just really anxious to get in the new house and sick of living in our apartment.  We've done a pretty good job of avoiding house fights up till this point.

Re: Tuesday Talk

  • My cat woke up today with a huge absess in his mouth. I tried to clean it and it popped followed by blood and more puss. OMG so gross (sorry for anyone eating :( ) So DH and I are taking him to the vet today. Poor thing. I'm pretty sure he has an infected tooth. The vet is 45 minutes away and we're down to one car because mine is in for an oil change/battery replacement. Oh the joys!

@kelbel527 we have a garbage disposal now and I can't say I love it but I'm not sure I want to part with it when we replace our kitchen sink. Ours is on the right side which works well for us. Both DH and I are right handed.

  • I am so over the work week and its only Tuesday!  i think its the cold haha.

@kelbel527  i never even thought about what side of the sink the garbage disposal could be on, our have always been on the right everywhere i have lived (all houses and apartments) the only exception was our townhouse which we had a single deep bowl sink it was just in the middle.

I have never had my period bad.  Ever.  Until now.  Where overnight I've bled through everything and wrecked now 3 pairs of underwear.  Any suggestions on where to buy comfortable plus size underwear?  I always buy from Lane Bryant when it's 5/$29, but they're not doing that right now.

I have a no eating rule on the new sofa, but apparently that doesn't apply to me when I'm home alone.

  • I just cleaned the bathroom and I'm so dizzy and nauseated now. I had the fan on and eventually opened the window, but it didn't help much. So much for the "power and free" not having fumes.

Also, I'm so over winter. I'm moving to Florida.

What?! Wasn't it super cold yesterday in IN? Sometimes if  my sitter is leaving right away, she will have their coats ready to be put on and boots (or shoes) on their feet while they are playing or sitting at the table coloring.
Yikes! On the porch all bundled up when you weren't late is crazy. Buuuut, you've obviously expressed other concerns you have about your sitter.

Our disposal is on the left, but we do keep that side clear for washing, as you mentioned.

  • I totally did a post and run on the thread I started.  That job and everything.

I love the debate that can come out of a garbage disposal.  Our biggest problem is that our new sink has one side larger than the other (that's new for us).  I told him he better absolutely make sure that the disposal is in the large side, otherwise I won't be able to dump things from a pot, etc on the side I will want to rinse them in.

I believe it will be on the right side with the dishwasher to the left.  It's annoying, but I'm going to deal.  As long as the disposal is in the large part of the sink.  This debate clearly went on for awhile.  ;)

@tinyhumantoe - When DH is gone and I'm not pregnant, I get exhausted of all the stuff to be done at night.  When I was pregnant?  There's a good chance I would have put off bath night one more night if possible, and if I'd get help the next night.  That's a PIA when you're pregnant.

@nita2603 - I hope your little guy is feeling better soon.  Sounds awful!

  • My disposal is in the middle of my one compartment sink.  I win, or lose, depends how you look at it.

My kitchen is totally f'd right now from my glitter craft last night.  DH didn't say anything and I could tell it was KILLING him to keep quiet.
I'm only allowed to do glitter in certain parts of the house, otherwise DH will absolutely refuse to clean.  And since I detest cleaning above all other things, I'll glitter in the garage if it makes him happy.

Glitter is banned from our house.  We have enough issues with all of Maya's stuff that has glitter already on it, there is no sense in adding to the problem with additional glittering.

  • Grace wanted string cheese and tomatoes for lunch. I wasn't going to say no.

I had my 1 hr GTT as some of you saw on IG. The test was fine but the offices were crazy. Two huge groups just merged. These groups were huge before they merged. Now the group covers westchester, putnam and dutchess counties in NY. This like a 100 mile radius.  My orders were never placed for my test. I needed to drink the drink before 9am...I drank it at 9:25. My MW appt was at 10 am. I got done with the test at 10:25 and wasn't checked in to my appt until 10:40. offices are 10 feet apart. Not like I had to drive anywhere. Finally saw the MW at 11:15. Crazy. Everything looks great so far. Won't hear results for a few days. But that was pretty frustrating. Dh happened to get switched to second shift so he was home but I was supposed to be home by 11 at the latest. I had a woman coming to get stuff at 11:45, she came early. Grace thought it was me so she cried until I got home. DH had no idea that someone was coming to get stuff so he was super frustrated. He doesn't handle stuff like that well. This morning was just a mess. I was at the dr. office from 8:50 to 11:20.

my house is such a disaster. I keep trying to organize but I can't complete any task without Dh's help it feels like and he doesn't understand why it's urgent for me to complete something so it takes forever to cross something off my list. I just need a weekend with out Grace and with someone to help me. It's nice to dream.

  • I have had a straight up shitty couple of weeks.

I finally made an appointment with a psychologist for my anxiety/OCD, in conjunction with meds I'm currently on prescribed by my GP.  After about 20 minutes, she more or less said I was too far off the deep end for her services, and she was referring me to a psychiatrist.

I felt better after a week of vacation, but as some of you may have seen on IG, a pipe burst in our attic while we were on vacation, and leaked water through the second floor ceiling, down the walls in the master bedroom, through the first floor ceiling, and we had standing water on our hardwood floors on the first level.

I kind of feel like I cannot catch a fucking break.

...sorry, that's a lot to unload after not being around for a few weeks.

  • I have to laugh at the number of people at our salad bar the last two weeks.  Clearly it's new year's resolution time!

And yes, I'm a total hypocrite, because I'm using the new year to get back on track with exercising.  But I just find it interesting to watch the long lines at the salad bar and water and in 2 months it will be back to the soda and burger lines.

This made me think of something else (and it may be an UO), but I think it's rude that people are complaining about how crowded their gyms are and how they can't get a machine, because people decided they wanted to get healthy as a new years resolution.  Someone responded to one of those comments with "Just wait a couple weeks".  I know that's probably true, but I think "you" (people who say this) look like a jerk.

Ha ha.  I just read the rest of your paragraph that I didn't bold (after writing what's above this) and I see you're saying something similar.  You're not coming across as a jerk, because you're saying you do it too.  I guess I think if even a few people keep with it, good for them.  I would think we (as a country) would want more people to healthy. This rant was not meant to be directed at you @kelbel527.

  • I finally got AF this morning after a 47 day cycle. I don't know why my cycle was so wonky. I am waiting on my MW office to call me back for an appointment to get some blood work done to test my hormone levels. FX that they look good and next cycle will be our lucky one.

I am going to order some books on Amazon to help my parenting skills. My kid is such a terror sometimes, I just wish I felt like knew what the hell I was doing. Timeout has been working, but I don't feel like he knew what he did wrong in the first place.

Mentally, I totally do the same thing as you're saying, but I would also never discourage someone who is trying to make a change (I am the last person on earth who should ever judge someone else's healthy habits).  I also have joined the gym at the new year and wish people were more supportive (vs. just get off my machine).

So, in short, I actually completely agree with you, even though I was being a jerk as well.  ;)
