@boxerrrmama85 RIGHT?! It somehow feels like it'll never end but at the same time there's no way to get everything done before it is over!! My spam- DH is finally picking up some slack! After my horrendous breakdown last night, pretty sure he got the picture! I came home on my lunch break and he'd taken care of some super important medical/financial stuff, plotted out freezer meal AND had gone grocery shopping for it all! Best thing EVER to hear a husband say? "What do you need me to get cleaned first?" :x
So my Dr appt went real great this morning! Got to see my lil not so lil peanut today. Have a growth scan set for Feb 2! Dr says he looks good and for the moment he is facing down. He's been down for a couple weeks so lets hope he stays that way. Went through L&D today. So I have a question for you ladies. I have been telling my DH I only want my parents, siblings, his mom and sister to be the only ones aloud to visit in the hospital. But he wants anyone who wants to come see the baby. I don't want any kids coming to the room. It'll still be flu season here and I'd like to prevent a bunch of hands on the baby. The hospital prefers that you minimize your guests do to this time of year. So what are your guidelines for guests and what has your hospital recommended?
I had an OB appointment first thing this morning. I received some good news--at the moment--she is finally head down! My doc estimates she is around 7 lbs already (I know that doesn't mean much). Next week I'll get to schedule my growth ultrasound.
I also got DH on board today with placenta encapsulation. I know it isn't for everyone, but I decided to give it a go. She picks up from the hospital and delivers the pills about 2 days later. She has great reviews and is local, which is nice. The only super weird part is that we need to bring our own cooler and ziplock bag to the hospital--I need to add that to my pack list! Maybe I can use it to keep my celebration beer cold until I deliver.
I'm with everyone else on the unconfortableness of being pregnant this month. I agree about the whole being pregnant for 10 months. Its 10 months!!! Lies.
I am also on team 'thank God for my mother' when it comes to freezer meals. She already has three ready for me and will be staying with us for a few days after LO arrives.
I'm so exhausted. I'm begining to think nesting won't happen for me. I put my etsy shop in 'vacation' mode today and I'm finishing up my last 3 orders. The end is near!

We live out of town from family and don't really have local friends (because I obviously don't like people) so this is less of a concern for us. Regardless, we'd do family only for hospital visits. A couple of my BILs have three year olds and I wouldn't expect them to leave them home if they were making the trip. In L&D, we're allowed to have four passes. This includes the pass for an SO. We're all about medical staff only and want the uninterrupted skin-to-skin and BF time. If we are in L&D for an extended period after, we'll probably have my MIL & FIL visit first and my SMIL and SFIL visit next. My ILs are really well adjusted and this wouldn't be an issue. If they want to come in with their respective SOs, they can rock/paper/scissors it, because we're not making that decision. In the regular recovery room we're allowed to have as many guests as we'd like and the hours are very loose. I figure I'm probably going to be pretty exhausted and wouldn't want visitors other than immediate family. The woman that gave our LD tour says that she has seen big groups come in and the benefit is they're there, there's not a lot of seating, and it's done and over quickly. She also said that the nursing staff is completely willing to lie about the number of guests allowed and hours. Ultimately they want you to be comfortable, less stressed, and able to recover physically and mentally. It might be helpful to point out to YH that this will be physically and mentally draining and all of the other people who want to see the baby will be just as thrilled in the coming weeks.
Thanks. It's the third or fourth time I've had a broken nose, so I'm used to knowing what happens when it happens. H even texted me and ask if he needed to come home so I could go get it checked out. Nah. The swelling will go down (and already has quite a bit) and there's not much they can do at the doctor except tell you that it's broken.

My hospital is currently not allowing visitors younger than 12 yrs old due to flu concerns. The only one coming to the hospital will be my husband. MIL will be staying with my 2 oldest. Everyone else can visit at home 3-4 days later depending on how I feel.
@krysmill Our hospital will only allow visitors age 13+ - exception for siblings. Ask DH to keep to your visitor list for at least 24 hours. Then, if you're feeling better you can give him the greenlight. It might help his excitement to give him a "maybe" instead of a no.
@mrsclark731 I keep debating on when to put my shop in vacation mode. (EDD 2/21) I've had 3 orders and a ton of views for one of my pricier made-to-order items in the past 2 weeks. At the same time, I don't want to bring packages into FedEx any more! Haha.
@mrsthadababy -- I had posted a 'warning' a few weeks ago to my shop that I would be putting it in vacation mode in anticipation of giving birth. It is just getting too hard! Plus, I have no more polite filter left. I, of course, have been slammed with orders. I set it up so there is an automatic reply when someone messages me. I have been tempted to 'cherry pick' orders that are still worth it. Today I replied to three messages with:
I have been entertaining orders that are over $100....what are you planning to order and what is your timeline?
Fun end of the day spam: Had a surprise work shower today! They totally tricked me too with an invite to a very un-pleasant meeting ...should have guessed! Fun end of the day, although it actually made me very glad I didn't have a regular shower. I really don't like being the center of attention like that, more so then I expected...never had a bridal shower, so this was my first shower.
Had a few fun games, like guessing celebrities from their baby/childhood pictures (I was terrible...got 5 out of 11) and cupcake decorating. Even the 3 guys in the department got in on the decorating.
Yay for the full-termers! Yay for fun baby showers! Yay for getting babies' nurseries all done!
Have I done any of these yet? Negative.
However, because of all of the birth announcements lately, I pre-worked payroll to call in tomorrow, in case I don't make it into the office. Because I have those numbers here at home, I will not go into labor early. My mom keeps telling me the anecdote that her 3rd (and 4th) came weeks early and she had to do payroll from her hospital bed. Thanks for making me nervous, Mom!
Ack!! Between hubs yelling at the tv and this football game I may go into labor tonight....lol...anyway...
Vent: DH told his boss what the MFM said about me delivering next week so they could have a heads up. He was planning on taking off the entire week when I went into labor, boss said he couldn't take the week off because they have a turn around starting then. So he will only get 2 days off without pay. Sometimes oil field/refinery work sucks!! Hopefully OB will want to schedule for the weekend... We will see tomorrow.
