LO's preschool is a 15 minute walk away but I'm struggling to get her there and back in these cold Ontario winters. It was -16 yesterday, even colder with the wind chill, and even with multiple layers, snow suit, blanket on top, and rain cover, her nose got frost nip yesterday. I think the rest of her was fine, but noses tend to stick out! Does anyone know of some newfangled product that would help? Has anyone had luck with one of those insulated stroller covers? Or is there a nose shield of some sort or a face mask for kids? Or better still some sort of stroller heater?
It doesn't really cover the nose, but Tumaini has a larger one and it covers most of her face.
Vaseline always helps.
I also put a blanket in front of the babies, but pull it up high so that it prevents the cold wind from getting to them. It's hard to explain. I'll try to take a picture tomorrow!
Yup, I think you're right, this calls for a low tech solution. Like something draped loosely over the nose, maybe tucked into a balaclava so it stays in place. Thanks for the vaseline tip @Barefoot84. Wonder if someone will invent a safe stroller AC/ heater. Or a battery operated blanket with hood and nose flap.
