So maybe a stupid question, but this is my first baby and I haven't been to the doctor. I'm going to the doctor next Tuesday and u/s following Wednesday. Do you hear heart beat at doctor appt or ultrasound? Or does it vary from doctor to doctor? I'm just trying to figure out what to expect. I did already have preliminary blood work/family history phone appt with a np
My first appointment was today (I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow) & the heartbeat was 173bpm. Took a bit to find it & he had to push down really hard to find it since it's still early on but the hb was really strong once we found it.
174 at 10w6d ... seeing everyone else's makes me wonder if I'm having a girl, since supposedly, girls rates are faster?? not sure if this is a myth or not, but makes me wonder.
This may be a neat thread to follow once everyone's sigs change to show boy/girl ... I'm curious to see if there's any truth to the heart rate thing about girls being faster than boys.
