Just an update. My spotting turned into bright red bleeding with clots. I was panicked especially with the cramps so I went to the ER. Ultrasound came back with a healthy baby wiggling all around, hr 150. It was 183 last week. I have a subchorionic hemorrhage and was told not to be surprised if I bled a lot more throughout.

I'm so relieved. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers.

Spotting and cramping has been better for me since this weekend, which I thought was a positive. First hcg level was 475 (low for 6 weeks) and Second hcg test showed higher numbers (in the 500's) but not doubled... Anyone else have success with slow rising hcg levels or will I likely mc? I have an appt at 3 today. Ugh...

I have a cyst on left ovary and I have pretty bad gas pains today that seem to make the cyst hurt more. I was trying to push out some gas today and felt a gush. Went to the bathroom and found what looks like brown blood/ possibly leukkorrhea. Not sure if this is normal or not?

@laxdixdar‌ I was the er last night with heavy bleeding,cramps, and clots. Was also diagnosed with subchorionic hemorrhage. My doc said the will recheck it in a month. How is your doc monitoring? Sorry you are going through this too.

Same here...9 weeks and having brownish discharge when wiping. This happened at almost exactly the same point in my first 2 pregnancies and sent me to the ER in a total freak out b/c I was out of town for the holidays. My 6yo DD and 3yo DS now are in the business of destroying my house and I'm trying NOT to freak out over this "spotting". Have a Dr apt Monday. FX for everyone going thru this! It sucks....but can end up ok!

First pregnancy. I about 6w3d i have my first appt in a week. I started spotting 3 days ago, bright red with small clots. It stopped after about 2-3hours. Now today i was at work and i started spotting again, light pink. I still have light cramping and back pain. I'm really starting to worry.

I came in here because about a week ago I saw some brown blood on my panties, and thought little of it. All night today I had leaky vagina syndrome (TMI?) and felt like I was starting my period.

I haven't, but I definitely had some more brown blood on my panties, and extra CM when wiping.

Trying to keep as calm as possible, until my next appointment (jab 26th—12 weeks). All my other symptoms are still going strong.

I had zero spotting with my last pregnancy, and it's crazy how even the tiniest bit of spotting sends your mind to the darkest and scariest of places.

I was only in the ER. I have to take it easy this week and follow up with my OB next. I'll know more from then.

Hey ladies...wanted to share what I went through earlier on in my pregnancy. I am 11 weeks now, but during weeks 7 - 9, I was dealing with brown spotting and cramping every day. When it initially started, it was happening after a BM, it didn't matter how little or how much I strained, there was brown blood when I wiped. Then it turned into throughout the day, along with period-like cramping. I called my OB office and they scheduled me for an ultrasound because of the cramping. At 7 weeks and change, everything was fine, good heartbeat, and baby was measuring ahead. My OB told me that the brown spotting and cramping is common, with so many changes taking place in the uterus it can happen to some of us. They told me if it turned red, and was filling a pad an hour, then it's more cause for concern. I was still so nervous though. What helped me was rest and lots of water. I propped my feet up under my desk at work and drank as much water as I could and that helped a lot. At the end of the 2 weeks it looked more like discharge with a brown tint, before going away entirely. I know what you ladies are going through, it's such a crapshoot, but it doesn't always mean something is wrong. Contact your OB right away if it happens so they are aware and can advise you what to do next. I wish you all the best.

Thanks to the person who wrote "you can spot after pooping". I didn't spit at all my first pregnancy but today when I wiped there was a TINY bit of blood on the TP and of course I (took a pic) got worried. This makes sense though bc I deuced before I wiped. Never thought a convo about pooping would make me feel better.

I posted on the original thread last week that I had spotting once when I wiped last week with some mild cramping. I called the nurse the next day and they told me that as long as the spotting didn't get worse and I didn't have severe cramping not to worry. I have had mild cramping off and on since then, but only on one side. Then just a little while ago spotting again when I went to the bathroom. I'm waiting on a call back from the doctor's ofI'm completely freaked out, and my first appointment isn't scheduled until next Tuesday. This is my 3rd pregnancy, but never had spotting when I was pregnant with my DS' s.

I just called mine as well just to be on the safe side and she said it can still be normal this time around but they will run some blood work tomorrow and give me an US (during my first appt) just to be certain all is okay.

I'm at 8 weeks and 2 days, had an awesome ultrasound on jan 2 at 7/4 with a heart rate at 160. This morning I woke up to a gush of blood and a few small clots. After that it's just been bloody cm. Had mild tender cramping but nothing super strong. It just came out of nowhere. I got blood taken today and get another ultrasound tomorrow. Wish me luck!!! So scared!

I went to the ER for cramping found out I was 5wks preggers on 12/31 with HCG levels @1680! Began to have light pink to dark brown spotting on 01/05! Daddy & I were worried I miscarried but, during 2nd ER visit after numerous labs, a pelvic exam, on 2nd U.S we were able to see baby/babies had implanted correctly but the position looked ominous... We were also informed my HCG were 2800! I was placed on pelvic rest& no work until 01/09 with light duty, also no sex 2wks. I just thank God this pregnancy is not ectopic I don't think I could deal with that again! Spotting continues off & on but no longer pink just brownish... Praying for the best for us all! #WORRIED1stTimer

That's what I've always heard too, which is why I haven't been too alarmed. I haven't called my Dr. But my other symptoms have been raging onward. I may mention it to my Mom though--CNM. She's handy to have around!

I have an ultrasound tomorrow afternoon to rule out ectopic pregnancy. I'm really worried and the thought of having to tell my 7 year old something is wrong, breaks my heart, he wants another sibling so bad.

I had brown and then bright red spotting with my daughter. It was terrifying. And I didn't think it was from having sex because it had been almost a week but I saw my Dr and that's what she attributed it to. She's a healthy Happy two year old now. Having some pink spotting this time as well but both times it was right after sex and didn't last so I'm not really worried. Keep your chin up ladies. We'll make it through this.

I had 4 days of spotting around 6 weeks came with cramping - nothing worse than PMS would bring.  I had my first ultrasound last week at 9 weeks 1 day and everything looked normal!

Sending good thoughts to anyone with spotting - it's scary.

Just went through this! Very light brown spotting once a day for the past 3 days. Since I'm "high risk" at 39. (Thanks!) they wanted to get me in for an ultrasound. Im 7 weeks. All was well.:) Baby's bpm was 134 and all
Looks good. Spotting is extremely common in first trimester and it could have been a small bleed from the uterus expanding. Good luck all!

Update: I had an ultrasound today to rule out ectopic. Every thing looks great, and heard the heart beat at 182bpm at 7w6d. The doctor thinks the cramping on one side was from a tiny cyst on my right ovary they said probably from when I ovulated. No idea why I was spotting, but doctor said since my ultrasound was so good, my chances of m/c at this point is very small.

I'm 8w2d and started spotting. Light blush/light brown/specs of red when wiping only so far, mild cramping which could be completely in my head. I'm having a really hard time with this because I had a mc in April and didn't spot at all with my DS. I know bleeding is common, but the nearest medical facility is an hour away with an on call Dr and the nearest hospital is 2 hrs and my first OB appt is scheduled for next Friday. I hate waiting. I hate not knowing. This sucks. I feel for everyone else going through this as well

I was hoping I was done posting on this thread, but tonight when I got home from work, I felt a gush. I went to the bathroom and had lots of bright red blood. Called the doctor and they suggested to go to the ER. I thought for sure I was having a miscarriage, but baby looks good, and has a strong heart beat. I still have a cyst on my right ovary, and they really can't tell why I was bleeding. Thankfully the bleeding has mostly stopped, just light spotting now.

I guess I have to be a part of this thread for the first time, ugh. Woke up spotting (just brown/pink) and cramping. I'm hoping it's just uterine stretching.

I was spotting a couple days ago and decided to go to the ER, as a FTM I'm so terrified of every little thing. Anyways turns out I have a bladder infection and that explained the spotting and cramping. We also found out baby is measuring a week behind but that's ok as long as he/she is healthy!

I'm also part of this group.  I've been spotting every day since last weekend.  It's only when I wipe and seems to be worse if I exercise or am super active, so I've been trying to take it easy.  I feel for all of us on here. I spotted with DS first and second tris, so there's some comfort for me (and I hope for all of you, as well).  But it still really sucks!

I cramped and spotted red Thursday evening, so we went to the ER (it went from pink to red so I was worried). ER gave us an ultrasound and everything looked good so they told me to rest and follow up with my OB. Friday my OB found that I have a bacterial infection causing the symptoms and gave me an antibiotic cream to help clear it up. She said the bleeding was coming from outer cervix, which is sensitive right now, and not internally, which made me feel a lot better. I've never been so glad to have a vaginal infection, lol!

So, I go here now. I'm 7w3d and have had intermittent cramping in the previous 3 weeks. The past three days, I've been having a lot of lower back pain, but no cramping. Tonight, I started light brown spotting. I don't have my first appointment until the 20th. I'm concerned, but don't want to freak out. I guess I'll call my midwife tomorrow to see what she suggests.

The spotting that started Friday continued. Sat night it got a bit heavier (light bleed) and turned more bright red. When went back to intermittent brown/red spotting sun morning. Ended up going to ER. Portable ultrasound showed gestational sac, no neural tube, no heartbeat, uterus full of blood. Impending miscarriage. Now I just get to wait for the real "fun" to start. Hopefully none of you end up with the same result as me. I wish you all the best. Xoxo

Thank you for sharing, I'm 9 wks and 3 days this happened to me last night and this morning! I am currently waiting for ob office to call back and I am so nervous.
