Any of you ladies tea drinkers? I'm thinking of trying loose leaf teas but I'm have no idea where/what to buy. I'm 24 weeks pregnant so I have to stay away from hibiscus and raspberry leaf. Any other I can't drink?
Mmmm tea. We're big tea drinkers here and I love trying different kinds. I would suggest you buy a kit from Davids tea, they have so many different packages with assorted teas to try. I've only had one tea from them I didn't like and that's because it reminded me too much of Hawaiian pizza (pineapple flavoured).
I get most of my teas from a local tea shop. They just have a huge wall of big glass jars full of tea and it is sold by weight. It's so much fun to go in there and smell or sample a few and then choose one or two to take home.
I'm not really huge on flavored teas but I love a good Lady Gray/Lavender Earl Gray, Irish Breakfast, Chamomile, peppermint or sleepy time blend.
I would stay away from Teavana; There was a recent report that suggests Teavana teas are riddled with pesticides. I haven't decided yet, based on the information I've found, whether or not I believe this report but there are plenty of other places to get tea.
Republic of Tea are quite good. If you want to sample a few, I believe Panera serves their teas.
Eeek. I loved well used to live them. Bhoo will have to find a new shop now.
I a bug fan of white tea. It's normally what I drink in the winter at work. Speaking of I did buy a actual tea thermos (the one will the screen in it) and it keeps my tea nice and hot for hours
I am an orange pekoe kind of girl.... But my absolute favourite is called Dilmah. It's a black tea that's single source from Cylon. It's packaged at the farm that grows it (instead of from multiple farms) and is in a slower steep bag. The best part: even if you steep it too long, it doesn't get that bitter acrid effect.
I also love a loose leaf vanilla rooibos.
I looooooove peppermint tea, with a little honey in it. I drink it for tummy aches, sore throats and when I just want a tea hug. I also really like fruity teas, like a mango/peach or a peach/orange. I go herbal all the way, which I realize isn't tea at all, but an herbal infusion. Whatever, I still call it tea.
