Pasteurized vs. "Lightly Pasteurized"

Hey Ladies- not sure if any of the rest of you enjoy Naked brand juices, but I bought some to bring to work for lunches the other day and noticed that they are "lightly pasteurized". I know this means that the juice was heated for a shorter period of time, and that it needs to be refrigerated- but have any of you asked your OB if it is safe for pregnant women? I will ask mine what she thinks at my next appointment, but was wondering if anyone had already encountered this?

Re: Pasteurized vs. "Lightly Pasteurized"

  • I saw this on the label a few months ago and opted not to get them. I have not asked my dr. About them though.

I do have my own juicer and asked my Dr. If I can make my own juice. She said it was fine.

  • I think I would be more nervous about unpasteurized or lightly pasteurized things if it came from an animal. Such as milk or cheese.
